Smile: Made five decent sales today, and all were through cold calling, and I only called fifteen businesses, so my batting average is major league. Rarely do I pat myself on the back, but pat pat. My base salary isn't the best, but my commission is good, so I'm kind of thrilled about my day. Not every day in sales brings smiles, so I'm enjoying this.

My weekly assessment (micro manage much? I'm used to an annual review) is tomorrow, so I'm starting with a phenomenal stride. Or, as my Father said "It's only downhill for you from here" (he kids, but he drops a good reminder). Not gloating, just extremely happy. To say, "I'm Luke with X and I'm the new guy" and someone responding with "Great! I need 5000 of Y" is a greet feeling.

Next week I'll be after the big fish.

Frown: Not looking forward to spending most of my weekend driving. Well, not "most" of it, but at least a good ten-twelve hours, and possibly in shitty weather.

Smile: The video footage of a pit bull stealing gloves during a softball game. Seek it out.

 : Got another "defect" on my eBay account for "item not as described" today :P. Lady simply contacted me about returning the Wii Sports Resort game I sent her since it wasn't working. So I sent her a reply saying it was tested before I sent it but being a disc based game it could have been damaged during shipping, and I offered full refund + shipping upon its return. Just in case I put the simple process of how to clean a disc on the bottom.

Got a message back that they would try that when they got home. So i guess they didn't even bother to look and see what might be causing the problem. Probably a nice big fingerprint on there :P.

It amuses me how often I get messages about this from people who don't even think to try and clean even a disc before jumping on the return gun.

Thanks to the new system her simply contacting me now counts as a defect so I guess I'll have to set an hour aside and call customer support tomorrow to get it removed :P.

I sold a Yoda Beanie Baby (or something close to that) on ebay when THE PHANTOM MENACE was released. That's my only and very boring ebay story. Has it really gone to a hand basket?

This post sounds like something a Grandfather would write.

Yeah their new system is pretty fudged up :P. 5 "defects" a year is all you are allotted before they start hacking at your seller rating and pretty much anything and everything is a "defect" now. This new policy which comes into effect August 20th which they are already providing projections for on their new dashboard is quite the cluster fuck  .

I've been enjoying reading the forum dedicated to the policy update recently  . Quite entertaining to watch Jeff the eBay rep vs. Common Sense & 1k+ sellers.

http://community.ebay.com/t5/2014-Sprin ... llerUpdate

Edit:
One of the funniest changes is the optional 90 day return period they are bringing in for the Christmas shopping season  . Basically if sellers want to use the benefits of the Top Rated Seller status in November, December and January they have to opt in to holiday returns which would allow the buyer to return anything bought in that period(November, December, and January) by January 31st no questions asked  . It has been aptly named the "Holiday Rental" policy by sellers.

Geez sounds like even more of a reason to stay away from ebay if you are selling anything...
