Well, grabbed this today. Gave the first 4 levels a quick whirl and it was fun so far.

Nice. I completed it last night. The final boss is appropriately awesome, and the game goes absolutely nuts in the final sections (i.e., "shooter", "speed", and "retro"). (I also found the the third section ("ghost") incredibly difficult for some reason.) I hope you enjoy it as much as I did (and that you resist the occasional temptation to smash your DS against the floor in some of the more challenging sections). I also look forward to reading your thoughts on it; so, please tell me what you think.

Atari joysticks are just fine. They are better than many similar joysticks from the era.

2 interesting articles on PS4/XB1 Hardware, and 1080p/60fps.

I for one support 1080p/60fps games, some dont, some do, i think it should be a standard at this point, however looks like will be waiting till the next generation at this point.

When games are going for realism, i want them to be fucking real!, but if a game is trying to be artsy and retro, i dont care if it runs at 1080p or 480p, 30fps or 60fps.

But anyways, screw my thoughts, read these 2 articles!

When I was a tike my Father bought my Sister and I a BOSS controller and a Tac-III. They both kind of stunk, but looked awesome. Still have'em, but use the Genesis controller if I'm not in need of the track ball.

I have so many Atari 2600 controllers that often I think about doing something with them. Pain them, decorate them, use them for some other purpose, but have never had a great (or good) idea how to utilize them. Always thought an Atari stick would make for a good "Game Award". Paint it gold, slap a plaque on it, and there ya go.

Honestly to me it depends on the game or games in question...makes no sense to use 1080p(or 4k) if it doesn't fit the art style and budget. If you can afford it then go for it

2600 sticks are better than some others from the time, but they're still very fatigue inducing.

Probably not really a random gaming thought but I might as well ask it:
if i ever get the chance what do you guys think would be the best way to utilize the small space I have that is my room so I can have all the consoles out and displayed? I already know I need a new bookshelf for the games and have some baskets I'm putting the controllers in for now when they aren't in use.

Look into some wall mounted cubicle shelving. Sometimes called "modular" shelving, or "cube storage". Look around on the net you'll see what I'm talking about.

Random gaming thought... people saying Nintendo's showing off some new hardware for E3. I think it's going to be a new GamePad for the Wii U that incorporates the ability to play 3DS games natively on it. Either on the GamePad itself or by using the GamePad as the bottom screen and the TV as the top screen.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.
