I can't imagine a fruit machine where you win only virtual currency to be any fun so is there any actual fun to be extracted from these titles or should they just be considered for fulling out a collection?
Anyone actually enjoyed these. Right now they will probably be the last titles I would consider collecting.
Those came about when Aruze bought SNK. Aruze is (was?) a major distributor of Pachinko games in Japan. Like real, physical slot machines. So they "ported" a bunch of these machines to NGPC carts. An easy cash-in I suppose.
I had one of them. It was really boring to me. I think I'd probably take them as "extras" in a trade or something, or maybe pay a buck or two as shelf-candy, but I wouldn't actively seek them out as anything worth spending a lot of time with.

Ah, that explains it. I was a bit bemused by this as I couldn't remember a gambling craze that might otherwise have explained it. I guess the card games could be decent but the fruit machine simulators.

Wow, I've always wondered that as well. Thanks for the explanation noise.
So I don't know if anyone but maybe mjmjr25 pledged for Furrtek's MVS->AES convertor on Indiegogo, but that's been a bit of a mess with no communication whatsoever from him, and no convertors either.
Today, I tracked Furrtek down on Skype and was like "Hey, what's up?"... amazingly, he's RIDICULOUSLY responsive on Skype. I told him I understood he was getting beat up and I didn't intend to yell and scream, just was looking for an explanation He explained his manufacturing delays, his need to get new MVS connectors because of some people in France having problems, etc etc. He immediately asks "Did you want a refund?" without my even bringing it up. I told him that if it had supposedly shipped and should've been in my hands already, yeah, but if it hadn't shipped yet, I still wanted the product (the way he phrased it I wasn't clear if they had ALL shipped out or not). He checks, says "Nope, yours hasn't shipped yet, I'm sorry. I can get it in the post tomorrow if you want, it usually takes about a week France to USA". He fills out the shipping paperwork online and not only sends me the tracking number, he sends me a copy of the .pdf that has my shipping label right there with his address and mine.
On the whole, it was a great interaction. The dude's obviously very sheepish about having (quite frankly) botched this to kingdom come, and it shows. I really think he's trying to make good, but he said he's afraid to show his face on Neo-Geo.com... when I get mine, I'll be testing it and doing a review there and here (I'm only posting this story here right now, because I can't get onto NG from work which is where I am), not that my 15 post count there carries any weight really... but I hope he's able to salvage this.

i have 12 NGCD games atm , im going for the harder to get stuff first
Nice!
Don't forget the NGCD has a...er...uh...try before you buy ability for the more exspensive titles. If you know what I mean
I wish you had seen a thread I made elsewhere (that your at now) as I just sold 14 NGCDs at reasonable prices based by how quickly they sold. I mentioned I had a NGCD I was going to list. Before I could post pics or truly list it, I had a PM from someone who wanted it and bought it. Now's the worst part, waiting to see if everyone is happy.
I'm now Home System/AES free. I still have my CMVS and a beater NGCD for games like Last Hope and other new games in the future.
Here's a real old pic of my MV1B.
Since AES is printed on the NGCD and some European cabs as well as the Home System, I put it on the base to annoy those who feel that AES only applies to the Home System.
Mike hooked me up with a 2 slot CMVS. It isn't the prettiest, but it works like a champ. Plus, it has S-Video out, which looks great on my CRT.
Then, I got one those 161-in-1 multi-carts and can play damn near anything I would want to play. So I have about 300-350 invested in all, and can play most of the good NG stuff.
Fair warning - with the enjoyment i'm getting out of the SFA3 DC play, i'm strongly considering doing a Neo only fighter of the month later this year or next.
I'd really like to see Brad pick up a CMVS. I know the cost scares him, but y'all can attest, it isn't hard to get back out what you put in regarding teh neo.
Who'd be interested? It'd be just like the SotM, but w/ fighters, 1 credit, default settings, highest score. Maybe...prizes?!

haha at first I was upset that your neo cd sold before it was even listed, then I remembered I have a CMVS wtf do I need a CD system for? it is ironic that a great deal of Neo Geo arcade carts are cheaper than their Neo CD versions, and superior too. No load times
out of curiosity how much did that CD system sell for? was it CIB? haha do you have any Neo CD pads you would be willing to part with?
