I'm hoping at E3 Sony is like "oh by the way, we're cutting the memory card prices in half."

That would be nice even though I already bit the bullet and bought a 32gb awhile back...

What would be amazing is some 3rd part microSD to vita adapter, don't see it happening (or if even possible), but it would be awesome.

That would be nice but aren't they already about the size of a micro sd as is?

The only reason I can think of that they'd have (legitimately) for using their proprietary cards is accuracy when going "high" speeds. You can get a UHS SDHC card that goes about 10MB/s, the vita cards in real-world condition appear to top out around 7MB/s, but maybe it's more accurate?

I don't know. I can't think of many reasons besides "extra money" to not use SDHC.

I imagine you could make an adapter of some sort, but you'd have some equipment hanging off the Vita.

Is that not a legitimate reason?

Nothing to do with accuracy, everything to do with $$$. Sony has always been enamored with proprietary media formats...

I definitely want Sony to lower the price of memory card, which is the sore point of the Vita - you cannot have a 32GB card for USD $99 on top of a $199 console; who would actually buy a 8 or 16GB card, if Sony is pushing digital games.

Sure you can. They've done it for two years and the Vita is doing ok...if the console died this year I'd still be thrilled with its library thus far.

I think if they are going to push as hard as they are with digital downloads (pretty aggressive sale prices compared to retail), they need to sort something out with the price of storage. I am not buying digital titles, because my memory cards is almost full (16gb).
