What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

I take solace in the fact that clearly one of the things Sterling enjoys in life is owning the team and coming to games. He might make more money as a result of the ban, but that alone can't replace what is being taken from him since he already has a lot of money anyway...I feel like this punishment will always sting in a way that isn't salvable by more cash.
Mavericks outspoken owner Cuban said "Taking what someone says in their own home and using it against them...that's a slippery slope".
While I concur with Cuban's point in some respects, Sterling - who is a public figure - reportedly asked to be recorded. Even if he wasn't making public statements, public figures get in trouble all the time for recordings that were made with or without their knowledge (e.g. voicemails, live mics, etc.) and he's an idiot to not know this.
Not defending the dude, but man oh man. Imagine what our President says behind closed doors.
But he's probably smart enough to know not to record those discussions.

Unfortunately, I think that is mercurial thinking. I doubt Sterling gives a hoot. Why would he even want to attend a game after the flood gates were opened? I mean, obviously the guy would be booed and heckled at any game he attended. Adam Silver is helping the guy out by "banning" him.

I don't see how this is a win for the NBA. I truly don't. Huge win for TMZ though. Huge win.

Smile: Ice cream for breakfast, because, why the hell not? Coffee ice cream at that, with supposedly "Real" coffee. Also got a bit frisky this morning, but no one wants to hear about that.

Frown: Today will be a bit staggered. Going out of town for the morning, coming home to take out the pup, then going back out to the same town again. Hand to God, I would take my dog with me if it wasn't so miserably humid outside.

Ya know what? Having my dog with me would be quite polarizing when you think about it.

And here I thought with all the posts you've done about Sterling you actually knew something about him. His life is rife with drama and hypocrisy and by any and all accounts he lives for it. He still takes his favorite prostitute to games, the one who sued him years ago. That is when he isn't taking his ex-wife, or his girlfriend. Yeah, being booed would bug him

As if you know anything about him either

So in your mind you actually think he doesn't need approval? That he would enjoy being heckled? He would enjoy being booed? He would enjoy and revel in chants of "You're an ass-hole!"?

Because that's what would happen. And I'm being easy as far as the chants go. People have taunted players for their wife's miscarriages in the past. You actually think that Sterling would enjoy being chastised? Do you have ANY clue how fans react to sports? Especially in the NBA?

Obviously I answered my own question. You are clueless.

Superguns are great for some people, just not me. When playing on one, it always feels like I can get the same experience with the MAME setup I have had for the last decade (I built a shuttle gaming pc in 2004 to play Half Life 2. It is about the size of a shoe box. It has traveled all over the USA with me running emulators and games from 2005 and before).

He most certainly would be booed. Heckling typically only happens to players though. You heckle players in an attempt to piss them off or get in their head so it affects their game. The owner ha no impact on the course of a game. He would certainly hear comments from those who dont appreciate who he is though. I am not sure how much it would bother him.

Donald Sterling is an idiot racist asshole, but the only reason anything got done about it was because the filth from his mouth became a public issue to the point that sponsors were halting support.

When the money stops, then there's a problem. Nobody should get this twisted and think that it's a victory over racism or something like that.

I'm not the person on this site who has been spamming Sterling in multiple threads the past couple days. Oddly enough, most of my posts have been about video games.

Regarding the second bit - well, I think Elgin Baylor and Glen Taylor would know better than you and I and both have suggested he not only will enjoy the attention, drama, and insults - he will revel in it.

You remain consistent in one area, chief. Anyone who disputes anything you spew is clueless. Carry on buddy, tell us how to be set for life in just 30 days!
