Guhhh what fantastic games. I remember being way better at them at 8 than I am at 24, though.

Have you heard "DKC2: Serious Monkey Business"? It's an album from OCReMix, which is a collective of musicians who create remix albums of VGM. "Serious Monkey Business" is one of my all-time favorites that they've put out.

DKC3 is by far the most fair and balanced. The second game was headed in the right direction, but still had a few cheap moments. The first game was ridiculous, with all the blind jumps and guessing required to find the secrets.

Sadly not far off on dkc1  Even though I played it on gba still way too many freaking blind jumps if you wanted to find everything...

Eh, I never got into DKC3; I stopped at 2. It's just nostalgia for me at this point. Not that I'd be opposed to giving 3 a shot.

I think alot of people missed out on DKC3, because it was during the N64 launch.

I for one missed out on it, too busy playing Mario 64, Shadows of the Empire, and Killer Instinct Gold.

So yeah DKC1, and 2 were the ones i played the most.

I recently quit playing the GBC version of DKC. Not a very good port.

I played all three at the time, I only beat the first one when I was a kid.

2, definitely turned out to be pretty cheap, overall. When it's good, it's GOOD, but when it's cheap, it's downright infuriating.

The main problem I had with the first game is, the run button is the same button as the attack button (roll/spin) and it's the same button that can launch you out of a barrel. So, a lot of times it was like making me roll or spin, when I wasn't moving my thumb causing me to die, or it'd immediately launch me out a barrel. The context sensitivity of that button in the first game is atrocious.

The second game does something that's extremely cheap: it doesn't save your currency or lives. That's just bullshit. And, the way the charge works for the animals, specifically the snake, is nonsense. There's a lot of little things in the game that are really unpolished and make the game particularly unfair. Then the game has a design that will inherently punish you for its own shortcomings.

I don't have 3, and I don't own 2 either, I'm borrowing it. I was going to buy them ... but the prices fluctuate in the extremes. ($15 one week, $40 the next)

Anyway, DKC2 is a good game, but a lot of it pissed me off and I think the Retro made Country games are significantly better. And they have significant challenge. The primary difficulty in the SNES games (so far) has been from issues with the game.

I have Serious Monkey Business. I also have Kong in Concert. I forget which one, but I've read that Dave Wise collaborated on one of those.

My interest in DKC3 was derailed by another SNES release in 1996, Super Mario RPG

Was thinking about buying mega man x at my retro store. Saw the price which was 30.00. Then i saw wonder boy for the genesis for only ten dollars and put that on hold. The clerk suggest i should just sell my snes. The games are expensive and a lot of the games are on both systems. He does make a point but the Hell with that. No way am I selling my snes to them. Grant it games are costly but all i have to do is wait. In time like my ninja turtles game, just wait and it will come to you.
