What's the game from your childhood that isn't good anymore?

Also if you get to reviewing Mega Drive stuff you owe me to start with Sonic & Knuckles since I was your first subscriber

Thanks! You got the ball rolling

Childhood game is Star Fox, but I was kinda harsh there. It's still pretty good but the frame rate kills it a bit.

And Sonic & Knuckles would definitely be on the list, along with Kid Chameleon and Gunstar Heroes

To be fair, even Nintendo seems to be agreeing with you. They went and remade Starfox right away with Starfox 64, and let's be honest that game seemed to be what the original game's creators were really aiming for.

Good choice for Gundast Heroes, but I'm not really a fan of Kid Chameleon. Mostly because it's sooooooo damn looooooooooooooong.

And if you review S&K please review it as a stand alone game. Sonic 3 really drags it down in my opinion. The level design in Sonic 3 just isn't up to par with Sonic 2 or Sonic and Knuckles.

It seems to play like a CRPG from that time to me, so it makes sense that it wasn't popular on consoles. (CRPG stands for Computer RPG which was what they used to call western developed RPGs before they became big on consoles too).

Robotrek hard to get into? Probably yeah, if we are talking about aesthetics, but I found the game wasn't that hard to find your way around. Specially compared to some other JRPGs from the time.

And as always, nice review

i haven't played the SNES Shadowrun, but i have the Genesis version and i'm extrodinarily terrible at making any progress in it. i've heard the SNES is much better overall. as for Robotrek, that's another game i've got on my "eventually" list, but haven't pulled it down to give it a go yet, it's the concept that intrigues me so i think at this point if it doesn't live up to my expectations it'll be a huge disappointment. great vid as usual!
