I'd go with PSP mainly because I prefer to play an RPG on a handheld when I have the option. 8)

War of the Lions has a different translation and some added content. I'd say it's marginally better overall.

And when did you get a PSP?!

I am cleaning up a PSP I picked up at a pawn shop last week. It is a 1001 model, but: (1) the disc drive works; (2) it is in OK shap; and (3) it was only $20 with the charger. I have already opened it up to clean it, and I plan on modding it as soon as my memory stick and battery arrive in the mail. (In the meantime, I am clearing all of the good CIB PSP games out of my local stores...)

Also, I asked about the PS1 version because, if I play it, it will be on my modded PSP. (Accordingly, portability is not a factor.) I don't think my wife would let me hog the TV long enough to get through that game.

You mean the original Famicom game from 1990? No, you don't need to play that first.

The only western released Fire Emblem game I don't recommend playing without playing another game first is the Wii game. It's a direct sequel to the Gamecube's Path of Radiance.

All the other western released Fire Emblem games are standalone (The GBA's 'Fire Emblem' is technically a prequel, but it works fine on it's own and the game it's a prequel to didn't get released outside of Japan)

I've heard of some nasty slowdown when you cast spells though. Is that true or just more internet spewed hyperbole?

I've heard the same thing. However, I heard the original had a lot of slow down as well. I've never played either one.

I still have a few games I want to buy from my local Toys R us.

They still have copies of Epic Mickey 2.

There's about 10 copies for the Wii and there are 2 hidden for the ps3. I hope no one takes those. But if not, I still have the wii copies there.

Which version is best? Do I go for graphics on the PS3 or motion controls for the Wii?

opinions please.

Simple, WiiU version. Best of both worlds.
