I'm a bit out of the loop here, but it's pretty amazing to see. Alan Moore's name isn't on it though. He's still fighting the power.

Re: The Comic Book Thread
I just read the latest issue of Afterlife with Archie. I can't get over how brilliant the series is. It so perfectly combines top-notch horror with Archie & the gang into pretty much everything I want from popular entertainment.
Apparently the writer is now the creative head of Archie Comics and has plans to turn Sabrina the Teenage Witch into a serious supernatural drama... I CAN'T WAIT!

Re: The Comic Book Thread
Finished the first Batman Incorporated arc. Like a lot of Grant Morrison's recent work, he throws out about ten crazy ideas per page, but not a lot of it sticks. His research is impeccable as always, but I wish that he's focus more on the core storyline rather than stroking his ego.
The ending isn't particularly satisfying either and there is one part where I thought my edition might have a misprint because of a very sudden jump in location. There is a bevy of interesting support characters though and a fairly interesting villain in Doctor Dedalus but as I said, the core story isn't much beyond "badguy wants to blow up world".

As good as the Beta Ray Bill and intro to Surter storylines are Simonson's Thor gets better as it goes. The omnibus is one of my favorite books.marurun wrote:I shall keep that in mind. Simonson's Thor is getting better. Lots of changes to the character, and lots of attention paid to Norse mythology. This comic is not one devoid of research.samsonlonghair wrote:The best modern Thor comic I have read in years is "LOKI" by Robert Rodi.marurun wrote:Simonson's Thor

I started reading digital comics on my iPad late last year and have this to say:
Silver-Age Spider-Man comics are kinda stupid, but I love 'em.

Finished Elektra: Assassin. I really hope Frank Miller is seeing counseling. I haven't read anything of his that doesn't suggest he has some pretty serious issues.
Half-way through the Marvel Essentials book 1 of Howard the Duck. Pretty interesting series.
Read Omega the Unknown recently. Have the more recent remake from the library waiting for me to crack it open.

I wonder if he's aware there are women whom are not hookers.

Is it wrong that of my action figures, Howard the Duck is the one that entertains me the most to own?marurun wrote:Half-way through the Marvel Essentials book 1 of Howard the Duck. Pretty interesting series.
Re: The Comic Book Thread
I've only read a handful of Howard the Duck issues I found in a cheapo-comic-bin at a comic shop. I totally love it, one of the best Marvel comics from the 70s IMO!
I wish I had the Omnibus.
