The Intouchables

Movie has been sitting in my watch list on Netflix for a while now. I have to say it really blew me away the acting was great, the story was serious but with plenty of humor to lighten it up, and each of the characters was very well written. Definitely a great movie to watch with the family :).

Also watched Silent House :P.

An okay not great horror movie which seemed more stressful then scary. They hinted way to much about the twist so it was pretty obvious what had happened by the time they got to the big reveal. Although I do have to say my prediction wasn't 100% on the dot. Anyways it definitely earned the 2 star average rating :P. Nothing really special there.

Found it! Its Death Race from 2008 not Death Race 2000 . I got mixed up between the decades because the cars were modded like they are from twisted metal/MadMax something you would see in the 70s . Today car movies are smooth and slick like the ones in the Fast and the Furious. Also the colours used in the movie are very grey, something you do not expect in a recent movie which are filled with bright colours. I also completely forgot that was a Death Race movie in 2008 altogether.
I don't know how a movie from 2008 can possibly look or feel like a movie from the 70s. Death Race 2008 is the definition of a modern craptacular. Bright colors were most popular in the early days of color when they wanted to show it off, it's only today that directors are picking those muted palettes because of advances in color correction. Also it featured a modern mustang and Jason Statham...

because I didn't remember the whole movie just fragments of scenes in my memory that looked like the picture attached. I would say that looks Mad Max-ish , wouldn't you say?

God's Gun is a cheesy mid-70s Italian/Israeli Western in which Jack Palance leads a gang of criminals around town, kill Lee Van Cleef's priest, and then have to tangle with his identical twin brother down in Mexico, also played by Van Cleef. It's an odd picture, a bit uneven and frankly not very good, but I was still entertained by some of the infusion of horror aspects to the plot, particularly when the twin brother puts on the priests clothing and wanders around picking off the outlaws one by one while making the others think a ghost has come for them.

The Twelve Chairs isn't as good as Brooks' later work in the 1970s, and it's fairly uneven in its comedy, with performances varying depending on the actor. I found Frank Langella just far too straightforward of a character. It's like he's too much a straight man for a Mel Brooks picture, while everyone else is pulling off slapstick, Dom DeLuise in particular. As a result, the film comes off as unbalanced. There are things that I really like about the film(particularly DeLuise's Orthodox priest and Brooks' bit role), but it fluctuates too much and feels like I'm watching two very different movies.

This is probably true, but God's Gun definitely pushes the theory's boundaries...

God's Gun is far from his best, but its still a good one my book. The "ghost is killing us all" thing seems awfully High Plains Drifter-ish though.

It's pretty much a rarity among its peers and the cameo was pretty good.
