Any idea who's starting the Summer Game Challenge 2014 thread this year? My list is almost done, and I think we started on May 1st last year.

Sounds good, I think quite a few of us are excited about it - it really is a great RB tradition.

That's because it's pretty much a straight port of the SMS version. What really bugged me was saving the hostages was completely optional, that the powered-up weapon usually was with the second to last or final hostage in a stage, and you could NOT use ninja magic during the boss battles.

Agreed. It is a bad port and an OK game.

The Nintendo DS has the best Breakout clones of any system, and Nervous Brickdown is the best one.
But does it support the paddle controller?

There's a paddle controller for the Nintendo DS?!

It works with Arkanoid, Space Invaders Extreme, Space Invaders Extreme 2, and Space Bust-a-Move (but -sadly - not Nervous Brickdown)?!

In all regions?!

I may have to import one of those...

Seriously, however, Nervous Brickdown mixes up the breakout formula pretty substantially, and I don't think a paddle controller would work with all of its awesome modes. (You often hace to move the "paddle" vertically...)

Yup, I only have SIE and SIE2, but it works well for that. Expect to pay premium if you don't want a pink one though.

At some point I might try disassembling mine and giving it a dye job.
