Memoirs of a Virtual Caveman

Post by dire51 »

I know I'm new here and all, but I thought you guys might be interested in hearing about a book I've written, entitled Memoirs of a Virtual Caveman. The closest comparison I can make would be to the Rob O'Hara book Commodork or the LORE sections of the Digital Press Collector's Guides. It's all about growing up during the "golden age" of gaming and the experiences my friends and I had during that time, plus there are stories about the 16-bit era and the early days of the 32/64-bit era as well.

If you'd like to check it out, just click on the link in my sig!

Have you been pretty happy with lulu?
I've had them in the back of my mind in case I want to do a book sometime.

I wish you the best success with your book -- it sounds very interesting and I may have to pick up a copy once I read the stack of books I'm trying to finish up :)

Yes, they do, and I'd be glad to. :) Unfortunately, I'm not offering autographed copies for sale at the moment, but that may change in the future - and if you buy one before I start selling autographed ones (if I ever do), we can work something out to get your copy autographed.

BTW, there's a chance I may be showing up at Momocon (a last-minute thing, I'm not on the guest list), so if I run into anyone there that wants their book signed, I'd be glad to. :)

So far, they've been great. Everything was easy to put together and they offer detailed instructions on formatting, cover design and so forth.

Thanks! If you get a chance to check it out, I hope you enjoy it. :)

Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't been here in a while, but there's too much going on with me right now. I've barely been able to get online. As such, I'm focusing on what I can now, and unfortunately many things have had to take a back seat in all of the commotion.

I also will not be attending Momocon due to what's going on, which sucks. However, my friend Ian, whose work appeared in the book, will be there. He'll probably be passing out promotional MoaVC flyers, and if anyone has a book to sign he'd be happy to do so, I'm sure.

I refuse to make any more announcements like the last one. I'll either see some of you there or I won't.

Hey everyone, I know I'm bumping a six years old topic, but it's for a good reason. Just wanted to let y'all know that Rob (the topic creator here) will be releasing Memoirs of a Virtual Caveman (the 2.0 final definitive version) June 2014 in physical book form. It will include a host of new stories, including contributions from new guest writers, of which I'm honored and humbled to say includes myself :) This revised edition will include photos and will clock in at over 160 pages.

For more info check out Rob's site
