Haha I passed but it had a Nintendo sleeve so I thought about paying $2 just for that. I think I have a problem because I was legitimately pissy for a good half hour after that knowing that in all likelihood someone beat me to some NES carts. Sucks when you stop by and waste your time so many days waiting for that ONE time when they have something worth buying. I'd say I find something there once every 3 months on average and I'm talking ANYthing worth taking home.

 I know this feeling. Showing up at the same place time after time and finding nothing but scraps. Then one day you walk in and notice some new NES carts on the rack; the excitement of possibly finding something good hits you.....until you realize the carts are Play Action Football, Sesame Street and Mario/Duck Hunt. The realization that everything's been picked through, probably multiple times over, hits you. You leave the store with nothing, yet again.

I actually had to stop going to a couple of Value Village stores because of this exact scenario. It's like, if you can't get there first thing in the morning when they open, there's almost no reason to show up at all.

Oh well. Bring on the garage sales!

I feel the same way also. I just mentioned this to another member. Its sucks looking at all the thrift stores and you find nothing so you go home mad and pissed off. This is why I go on here and ebay. But even then it's such a pain in the ass trying to find a good deal on a game that you want.
It's almost like a headache. And the games online is killing our wallets also. I really wish games were saturated again and no one cared about video games except for gamers

So I returned to the store just on a hunch and found three PS1 long box.........SPORTS GAMES. Foiled again. There must be a lot of gamers that work odd hours.

Wow, those are pretty nice. You know, I've only been to a pawn shop once to see any games and I saw nothing noteworthy that I would write home about. Of course, that was a few years ago and I'm wondering if I should try again.

However, the only pawn shops around are at work (in not the "nicest" neighborhood) and across the street is a retro game shop that I typically go to so I'm not even sure if I would find stuff in there. There are a few others I know of but I'm still not sure if I should waste my time on doing them.

I picked up a PSP 1001 yesterday for $25. It came with a charger, it is not too beat up (but it will be by the time I am done with it), and the disc drive works wonderfully. I will be getting a new battery for it, however, since the one in there comes loose easily (apparently, PSP 1001 batteries "swell" over time). I am looking forward to modding it, and I might pick up a new faceplate to make it look really good.

On a related note, I picked up a complete copy of Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy for $5; so, I am also looking forward to picking up some bargain PSP games...

Then you need to hit up gamestop while they still have psp games. I have never gotten any good deals on craigslist for psp games. No one seems to sell games separate from psps in KCMO. I recommend Half Minute Hero, metal slug xx, FF Crisis Core, and getting any ps1 rereleases that you missed out on or want portable versions of.

Ohhhh....My local Gamestops are in serious trouble. I expect to grab any good PSP games they have left in stock early next month.

Yeah right now is the golden age of picking up used PSP stuff at game stop sadly the number of complete games they have keeps going down but they have some crazy good deals.

Here are some other deals from around the web.

Final Fantasy II(Walmart) - $4.97 with free site to store shipping.

Also posted this thread a while back with bargain bin games on amazon. Some of the prices have gone up though.

If you get a PSP go for the 3000. It has the most options for output if you want to play on your TV. Think the 1000 and 2000 can output games in component only but the 3000 can do composite as well.

Two games I highly recommend at Gamestop are the Power Stone Collection which is under $3 now and Valkyrie Profile Lenneth which is $6 or 7.

I may get a 3000 at some point. I just grabbed this one cheap because I intend to take it apart, replace the faceplate, mod it, etc. If I end up destroying or bricking it - which is a distinct possibility - I will only be out $25 (and I will still have a charger).

I also don't plan to play this on my TV. (I got it primarily so that my wife can use our TV while I play old games.) Moreover, I like the way the 1001 feels in my hands. It is a bit weightier and more comfortable for my (quite large) hands.

Don't worry. I probably won't get to the ones out by you, and I doubt you will be hunting PSP games close to uptown.
