I happen to know for a fact that a large number of Canadians still use feet and inches for height, and pounds for weight.

Also then you get into British people using Stone for weight. Because fuck you, that's why.
That stone thing is such a bitch. Seems like such an odd measurement. Not that the rest of the imperial system makes sense, but what is defined as a "stone" is a lot harder to figure than a foot. You might consider that rock a stone, while he might consider a different rock a stone....

Sounds like something this guy would say:

Any one feels that its the right time to collect DVDs?

It has been out for like 20 years, and the next format (Digital/Bluray) has been out on the market for sometime. I am guessing that there is a ton of used (and overstock) that can be picked up for cheap.

What would you say is a fair price for a used DVD now days? The value is definitely high since DVD's still look good upscaled on HDTV

Lots of brick and mortar places around me sell used ones that are in generally like new condition for $3-6. If they have overstock that sits around they'll usually get marked down to $1-2. Obviously rarer discs go for more, but it's hard to beat them even if something just "looks interesting" even if you're not familiar with it for that price.

With prices like these, its really hard to understand why would people still pirate especially when there are services like Netflix where you pay something like $25/m and you get to watch all the movies you want. Even harder to understand are people who still buy movies off iTunes for $10 when its SD quality is lower than a DVD and then its tied to your iTunes account and it has DRM in which it will only play on Apple devices and you can not resell it.

Average price down here is $1 per disc when buying DVDs so basically it is $1 per movie or $3-6 for seasons unless it is a collector set or something.

People treat their stuff like crap though so you always have to check for scratches.

Anymore my family mostly just watches Netflix $8-9 a month for unlimited streaming and Amazon Prime Instant Video($50 a year with my student discount). Anytime we want to watch something newer we just hit up a redbox for $1.25 .
