Yeah, it's fuzzy.
I read something, somewhere stating that RZA is working on Rae's demands so the album can get going full steam. Not sure if Rae wants to do his own thing (always has seemed to be the case) or if he's simply unhappy with the direction of the album.

I think it's def the unhappy w/ RZA having so much control. He publicly stated that he "hates" the new single. (Which I sort of like... the beat's good, but the chorus is terrible).

I like my Wu non-radio friendly, if that makes sense. Not that I don't want a lot of people to listen to their music, but my favorite tracks just don't have any "pop quality" to them.noiseredux wrote:I think it's def the unhappy w/ RZA having so much control. Once this all gets sorted out I hope they press a double album.

certainly. That's my issue w/ the new single. It sounds like non-pop Wu... until the chorus comes in. It's jarring.Luke wrote: I like my Wu non-radio friendly, if that makes sense. @Luke: Here's the latest episode of Wu-Tang's Creek.
“Let me say this to you,” [RZA] said. “I haven’t said this publicly but I’m gonna say this. The album is slated to come out in July. If we don’t come to terms I think within the next 30 days, then this will either be an album without Raekwon or an album that never sees the light of day. That’s a very strong potential. I would not want to put out a Wu-Tang album without every live member available. We can’t put Ol’ Dirty on it ‘cause he’s not here physical. At the same time, I don’t want the fans not to have this incredible music that we’ve been working on for the last year. So that’s gonna be a tough decision but we got about thirty days I think to make that decision and to come to that conclusion. Either way it goes. The sad part would be if it goes the way that it doesn’t come out. I would be very disappointed. But I know that the Wu-Tang legacy has already made a great mark on the world.”

I have like 55 CD's right now.oxymoron wrote:how big is you CD collection Hip hop wise, noise?
noiseredux wrote:so when it comes to music, I actually switched to digital for the most part back in like 2005. Basically, whichever is cheaper - digital or physical - is what I buy. So usually digital. And the only CD's and vinyl I really cared about collection has remained my Sonic Youth collection. But lately I'm starting to think about focusing on collecting hip hop CD's. I mean, it's something I'm really, really geeky about. So I'm starting to feel like I'd love to have all those liner notes to dig through. Back when I was a youngin' it's hard to tell you just how much amazing music I discovered by simply researching all the samples cleared in classic hip hop tracks. Plus, there's the archival side, where a lot of golden age stuff has gone, and remained out of print in the physical realm.

I did the digital switch too. I only buy about four or five CDs per year. Which is odd, because I still strongly prefer physical media when it comes to video games. I've never considered myself a "collector" of music I guess.
