How much time did you drop on DQIX? I put nearly 150 hours into it, and I was nowhere close to 100%...
Ooops forgot about that one too. DQ games keep coming out of the woodwork.

I was able to roll through it pretty quickly (I have the excellent Brady Games guides for both IX and VI) but I'm sure I still went over 60.
Yeah...I got through the main story in a little less than 65 hours. The remaining time I spent with that game was spent building gear, grinding, hunting monsters, getting crushed by "legacy" bosses, etc. That game is just so, so awesome.

I dint think I've ever broken triple digits on an RPG but I've hit 60 or 70 hours in quite a few. Recent examples would be Pokemon X at 72 hours, SMTIV at 65 hours, Persona 4 was about 70 or so, and Xenoblade was close to 80 if I remember right.

I think a lot of it depends on how much of a completionist you are and also the fact that modern RPGs are generally longer for a variety of reasons. Now whether that's a good or bad thing varies from game to game IMO.

I generally don't like RPGs that take more than 20-30 hours. (I dont' have much free time, and I have a tremendous back log of great games.) That said...I...just...couldn't...put...DQIX...down...(I finally forced myself to put it away, and I went into "withdrawal" for about a week. )

Finally made it to Chapter 35 in The Last Story. Mitra is a real pain in the ass.

Yeah I'm going into kingdom hearts and phantasia withdrawal right now(though phantasia that one will probably be put away until i can get my storage and everything else in order or move out don't know which). Though my backlog is getting a lot bigger with each month(but can't help it when I find games I still really need in my collection) :?

Did a bunch of grinding in Ar Tonelico and I'm sooo close to (probably) being a proper level for the final boss. Most of my guys are about level 70 and I'm trying to get them at level 75. Plus I made everybody the best armor and weapons I could get, so hopefully next time I try the boss it will go a little better...

Spent several hours yesterday helping my girl build her competitive team. Lots of reading up, and way too much math, but we finally have her 6 lined up and ready to be bred.

Also, I now have 700 Charmander. So silly.

Well decided to bite the bullet and play FFXII. Man so far it feels like a movie and almost wanted cry at the end of that battle scene

So far much more enjoyable than FFI

Dammit, I keep forgetting about The Last Story. Meant to start it up long ago.
