I have the perfect title for the next incarnation of the Mario series:

Yes, but I'd also qualify it with a "depends on what you want". If you're just wanting space combat, arguably, the X-Wing series did that part better, and there are other good series since then such as the Freespace games.RCBH928 wrote: Is it worth while playing the Wing Commander series now? If you have a strong console preference, that could narrow down your selection for you (though GOG has them, and most seem to work on OS X to boot).
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
We did Wing Commander @ Together Retro last year, and they're cheap pickups over on GOG.
The SNES ports (first game + Secret Missions) are just as good.

I think so, but the first game definitely shows its age. If you can get past that I found the first game to be quite fun. I've dabbled a bit in the second game and it definitely improves on a lot and doesn't feel as dated.RCBH928 wrote:Is it worth while playing the Wing Commander series now? I just won an eBay auction for 7 PS2 RPGs. I'm quite happy, but my backlog just screamed out in despair.
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Wing Commander II: Vengeance of the Kilrathi is the most critically acclaimed game in the series. (It is frequently included in "best games of all time" lists, and the story is very good.) That said, Wing Commander III and Wing Commander IV are supposed to be interesting. I have not spent much (i.e., any) time with them, but I was intrigued by a recent article on Wing Commander III.RCBH928 wrote:so which is the best in the series for Wing Commander?
