Unless you've watched a few episodes, I wouldn't be too quick to judge. It's actually pretty good, and they also do the special guest thing in the retro community - guys like 8bit Eric, the guys from ChargeBackForward, Gamester81, and many more. Regardless, it's not for everyone, the same as your thing.
Ive seen several of the shows. They are fairly local to me and are in this Texas Retro Gaming group that I am also in. I guess watching guys find games for deals and haggling at flea markets and thrift stores isn't my thing. But I at least gave them a try...

Who? I've never heard of any of these people.

Not to toot our own horn too much, and yeah we've had some "gamer culture" folks on too (e.g. Nathan Barnatt, well-known cosplayers, etc.), but generally the best interviews we've had are with people who have helped define video games - the designers, programmers, writers, artists, and executives across the history (and present) of the games industry.

Yeah it has been awesome interviewing guys who have developed some of my favorite games.

Yeah I found it earlier. I usually only frequent the forums on my phone so I had no idea.

I didn't mean to stir up this Podcast debate BTW.

This is exactly how I wished I could have played GBA games years ago. Beside that there is even a perfect 6x6 = 1x1 pixel upscaling option for the TV.
No joke, I got Metroid Fusion and it looks insane on the gamepad.

Anyways, yeah. This thread went completely off topic. Also should we seriously consider two threads?

1. People who have a Wii U and like it
2. People who don't and don't want one and want to talk about sales

Seriously though this has been going on forever now and has gotten kind of old. I'm not trying to jump on Nintendo's lap, it's just some of the same people bringing up the same arguments every 10 pages or so.

So yeah, Mario Kart looks insane.

I still think Hyrule Warriors is lame though. Definitely should have been Fire Emblem...

I dare someone to sift through this thread and sort it into two separate ones

I love the idea of Hyrule Warriors but Fire Emblem definitely fits the DW model better, also if it were between that and SMT x Fire Emblem they made a very very bade mistake.

Let's talk about the best Wii U game nobody is talking about but should because it's fantastic.

Wii Sports Club Golf.

I'm not kidding. I finally took the time to download Sports Club and used my free 24 hour trial. Man it is addictive. Bowling and tennis are shameless rehashes. Golf? It's an entirely new game. You can't dupe it anymore. It requires skill and finesse. The gamepad is used in a way that is actually, well, useful! You lay the gamepad on the floor and that serves as your window to the ground and your ball and your swing pattern. Wii motion plus is implemented and the way the game reacts to your swings is pretty well spot on and feels fantastic. The online community for it is strong and other than a few rage quitters it has been nothing but pleasant. I played it a good 2 and a half hours straight. I'm pretty certain this game alone could get my dad to buy himself one of these new fangled Wii U things!

Club Colorado needs to step their game up though. We're like rank 78 in Golf. :?

I'm waiting for the price drop, Dave to buy one and then buy it when he puts it up in his sale thread after two weeks.
