What's the best bargain you've ever found?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

What's the best bargain you've ever found?

Shining Force II, perfect condition with manual for $10AU, which these days is about $6US I believe.

That's the only really great one I can think of I guess.

I once found both Dragon Warrior 2 & 3 for a buck each at a thrift store. They were cart only, but in near mint condition.

Intellegent Cube, compete and mint. 4 bucks.

but, heck, man I've found so many good deals it's not funny. Just picked up 8 genesis games for 10 bucks. Gaiaries, Viewpiont, Phantom 2040, Crosfire (complete), Turrican (complete), Thunder Force 2 (complete) and Caliber 50 (boxed). Not bad eh. A few have rental stickers, but I can't complain. I've found so much good stuff at thrift stores I can't even tell you. I'd say 90% of my collection is stuff from thrift stores and traded for with thift store booty.

Heh. This topic always seems to come back every few months. It's fun to brag, ain't it?

For the newer people who haven't been listening to the broken record:

Planescape: Torment at Goodwill for $5. Ebayed it for $60. (I already had one copy.)

Also, this for $100:

Castlevania IV, Super Godzilla (CIB), Legend, Super Metroid, Street Fighter II Turbo, Drakkhen, Spiderman X-Men, Zelda LttP, Maximum Carnage, Super Mario RPG, Donkey Kong Country, Batman Returns, Wizardry VI, Knights of the Round, Starfox, Killer Instinct, Contra III, Wario’s Woods, Super Mario World, Zombies ate my neighbors, Gradius, Super Empire Strikes back, and Super Mario All Stars with a mint mini-SNES console.

I sold what I already owned/didn't want and ended up making the money back.

(BTW: I didn't type all those games out. I copied and pasted from a document I've been saving just for this occasion. )

Just about anything I've bought for Saturn in Japan. The racing wheel cost me 50 yen (less than 50 cents) and it was brand new. I picked up a mission stick for about 3 bucks, and the twin sticks plus every game they're compatible with for 10 bucks.

Also, Panzer Dragoon Saga only costs about 2 bucks over here and it's common.

I got a Mk I Genesis and Sega CD1 with a control pad and a few random cables along with about 4 pretty common games for $10. The CD didn't work but only needed a fuse to get it going. It's a little beat up around the edges but it cleaned up okay and works great.

I'm new to collecting classic gaming stuff. A went to visit a friend who said he would give me an RF switch for my Atari 2600. He gave me that and a PS1 just to get it out of his garage. I'm sure free is always a good deal. I don't know if it's common for people to just give stuff like that away though.
