Wii-U thoughts so far

To me it's not a question of IF the Wii U will go belly-up (i.e. it all but stops getting software and starts getting clearanced) but WHEN. In my mind its short shelf life was all but inevitable once they announced the name and specs. Since I think that the time for that to happen is relatively soon, I don't mind biding my time a while to see when it happens. If some knockout game with compelling features that are hard to experience elsewhere comes along in the meantime, I'd bite sooner - but I've not seen evidence of that game on the horizon (and the gamepad interaction is a non-starter for me).

This all makes perfect sense to me logically, I mean we all love saving money. But then I read you have both a PS4 AND an Xbox One so early in their lifespans and I'm left scratching my head a bit.

Regardless we all have our own preferences within our hobby so let's leave it at that.

I see those consoles as both A) providing me something I can't get now (e.g. newest entries in many franchises I like and new IPs with features/graphics not found on other consoles) and B) being likely to provide things I will enjoy far into the future. I can't check off all those boxes with a Wii U (HD Mario not withstanding).

so because the name of the xbone and the ps4 aren't stupid in his mind and they have the specs he finds appropriate for current console they are worth purchasing because they won't have a short self life.

That said, I did buy a CE of Titanfall that cost as much as a Wii U system. I didn't ask the state to fund that one.

Yeah you had all that excess cash floating around saved from not buying the consoles, just burning a hole in your wallet... lol

I've got a Wii U because there's games I enjoy and want to play on it. That's basically a simplified answer for what you said about having a PS4/XB1 already right? I'm waiting on some big games for PS4 personally but our tastes in games are clearly radically different.
