As for the last post, I was just playing. Maybe it was in bad taste and if so, forgiveness please. I've come across many other users having fun with each other in the exact same manner. It certainly wasn't meant to hurt any feelings. I'm sorry if you or anyone else mistook my neutral face as malicious. No hard feelings here.
No worries my friend! I could never interpret that as a negative question. Some forums offer such incentives for posting, like an achievement system or access to "hiiiiiiddddeeeeennnn ffoooorrrrruuuuums," spooooookkyyy. Here, we are not nearly as blessed, but I feel our conversations, discussions and debates, although heated at times, are a delight!

Also, if ever you are bored and have time to waste, I humbly extend the warm and welcome hands of the denizens of the Racketboy IRC channel which you can learn about Here. We are a quiet folk, but we keep good company!

Greetings to everyone,
I am hireshi, a Nintendo fanatic from a small country in northern Europe called Norway.
I am in my early twenties, and I've been collecting Nintendo games (mostly retro ones) the past 8 years.
In my eyes, a retro still has cartridges :D

I found this website by a coincidence, I was looking for where to buy a really rare competition prize SNES game, and I saw a story about it here. I read around and fell in love with the place.

First forum I've seen that is completely dedicated to old school games.

Cheers.

I grew up here, so it is what it is. It's the size of Japan, with a total population of 5 million. So it's extremely peaceful and quiet (considering 25% of our population lives in our capital). It's extremely cold in the winter, but hot during the summer.

As for my favorite games, Super Mario World takes the list high, Ice Climbers (NES), A Link to The Past and Oracle of Seasons.

Welcome aboard and it is an absolute pleasure to have you with us today Hireshi! So you are a nintendo collector? Excellent! It is always good to see another fan of Nintendo join the fray. Do you strictly stick with retro hardware or do you branch out into the modern stuff. If so what consoles do you have?

Any particular gems in your collection you would love to share?

You said that one of your favorite zelda games is Oracle of Seasons, I am very curious to know why that is since I love to hear people enthuse about games, especially the Zeldas that people don't tend to talk about like the Oracle series.

For me with Zelda games, my two favorite have to Majora's Mask and Link's Awakening. There is something about the slightly grim story in both the titles that really enthralled me.

Even if I'm still pretty young, it's difficult for me to adjust and keep up with all the new stuff. Not due to money, but as soon as I buy a new console, and start finding games, suddenly a new one will come out, and i have to stick to the frenzy.
I remember my father buying me my first NES when I was five, then a video store game me a SNES when I was eight, I always played them before school, and my friends would come over and we would buzz over how to beat that next map on Donkey Kong Country, pause the game to enjoy the amazing music, we had no internet like this back then. The old games are so simple, yet so fascinating! They also have amazing story lines most of the time, and the memories attached to it makes especially the retro machines and their games more appealing to me and i don't have to worry about a "newer" console coming out.
My favorite one has to be the SNES, due to Super Mario Allstars.

I do, however, follow the bandwagon when it comes to the GameBoy (now called NintendoDS, but i still call them GameBoy). Because I love picking with me handheld systems when i go out, and they don't take a lot of space.

As for why I enjoy Oracle of Seasons, it was one of the first GameBoy games I managed to complete, and I remember how I used to play it inside during rainy days, and the monsters, maps, season graphic is cute and interesting.

I do play my sister's Wii whenever I've got the opportunity though :)

-My name is Taylor
-I am a 20 year old male
-I collect far too many things (records, comics, film, trash)
-In my free time I like to listen to music, draw/write comics, shoot VHS home videos with real crummy direction and stories, host garage sales anddddd I'm eager to get back into gaming!
-Most my love rests with arcade gaming (mostly shmups) but I also enjoy JRPGs and pretty much any game with artistic merit.
-I just got a 2ds a couple months ago (first new piece of gaming hardware I've purchased since PS2) and damn is it cool! Really loving Shin Megami Tensei IV

Shmups and RPGs. Rare to find someone that enjoys both, glad to see I am not the only one!

Since catnip already asked about the RPGs... what are some of your favorite shmups? :)
