I'm kind of surprised the reseller trend hasn't died around here I have seen 5-8 stalls open and close in the past year or two because of people who overcharged for games and sold maybe 2-5 games in an entire day.
I think it is just a matter of time before these people realize that it would be more profitable to pick up a minimum wage job then trying to make a living off selling games.
When will SNES games start going down in price again?

Don't see it stopping anytime soon, for retro games in general and SNES in particular. The SNES is pretty much universally considered one of the greatest consoles ever made, and 'collecting' games has become the new sports card, stamps or comic book, its the 'thing' to collect. So with that in mind, SNES games will continue to attract a premium tag, even the common titles.
And gaming has been mainstream for a number of years now, unlike years past where it was considered a hobby for 'nerds' or kids, its now a multibillion dollar entertainment industry and an accepted part of pop culture. Its 'cool' to collect games now, so this pricing bubble will continue for the foreseeable future IMHO, especially as the years pass and more and more people hold onto their old games, it will just increase the value of those games out in the wild for sale.

If colecting video games is "cool" or "hip", then I am Mick Jagger.
I am not Mick Jagger.

You can't deny that it's become ingrained in pop culture the last five or six years, especially with the help of Youtube and Ebay. It might not necessarily be "cool" the way rap music is "cool", but it certainly has become a phenomenon that a ton of people can relate to and are interested in.prfsnl_gmr wrote:If colecting video games is "cool" or "hip", then I am Mick Jagger.

As far as those people with a table full of overprices games, you just have to walk on by. I told a seller at a flea market one time, when you decide to get reasonable with your prices, I'll decide to reach in my back pocket and pull out my wallet. He just stared at me. His booth isn't there anymore.
They have escaped into the mansion where they thought it was safe, yet.

I think we should do a series of fake articles on Racketboy, touting how rare and valuable copies of Super Mario Bros/Duck hunt are. That way we can all make a killing on the 12 copies we have, and use the money to afford overpriced megaman games.

Forget that, how about how old sports games are making a comeback and how rare they are now because people have just been throwing them away.Jrecee wrote:I think we should do a series of fake articles on Racketboy, touting how rare and valuable copies of Super Mario Bros/Duck hunt are.
