Good arcade stick for PS2?
Y'know something like the old NES Advantage? Anyone have especially good/bad experience with a particular model?

Re: Good arcade stick for PS2?
I'm happy with my two Tekken 5 sticks made by Hori. They're not as good as the Hori Real Arcade Pros (and especially the HRAPs modded with real arcade parts), but they're a lot cheaper too. Sort of depends on how much you want to spend.
I got my Tekken sticks for $30 each on clearance at Gamestop. New they come with a copy of Tekken 5, so I returned my sealed tekken 5 to a store for $45. This was a couple years ago. I don't know what they go for now on ebay, and of course no one is going to give you $45 Tekken 5 anymore.

Consoles: Wii, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, Xbox (x3), Gamecube (x3), Playstation 2 (x2), Dreamcast (x2), Nintendo 64 (x2), Playstation 1 (x3), Saturn, SNES (x2), Sega 32X, Sega CD, Genesis (x4), Gameboy Color, NES.

And that is the only site you'll ever go to again for arcade sticks.
Those are nice, but there's no way I'd drop $130 on a controller.

Fair enough. It really depends on how often you're going to be using it. When Virtua Fighter 5 was released for the 360 I bought a HORI stick, but I wore it out within a year. Rather than laying down another £30, I thought something more sturdy would be appropriate, hence arcadeinabox. As well as being more durable, it does feel a lot more responsive. That and you can kill people with it.noiseredux wrote:Those are nice, but there's no way I'd drop $130 on a controller.

haha. Yeah, I just wouldn't be using it CONSTANTLY. Only for select games.
Re: Good arcade stick for PS2?
Another option is the X-Arcade Dual. They have PS2 adaptors. They're still pricey, but you do get two joysticks. You'll want another the first time a guest bitches that they're at a disadvantage because of your fancy controller. You can also get adaptors for any other platform. Except Saturn :/ and Xbox 360. (But that's Microsoft's fault, so they can go fuck themselves.)
Personally, I think it's well worth the cost. If I don't find one under the tree this christmas, I'll be getting one myself in short order.

Yeah, I got the X-Arcade Dual TankStick, and I loves it. The only problem I have with it is that there is no Saturn adapter for it yet; other than that, it's perfect.

I have an HRAP 2 SA that I love. If you're trying to spend less than that, there's a PS1 stick by Namco that's gray with yellow buttons that can be found sometimes on ebay for around $60. It's really the best stick you're gonna find without real arcade parts.
