Re: The Last of Us: Re-money Grab
Like others have said, this has been going on for many console generations. Hell, Enix has been doing it since the SNES (Dragon Quest 1&2). I personally love the idea of these remasters. I still have a long wishlist for some old series that I would love to see remastered. I don't see them as a rip off as much as I see a company trying to make as much money on their product as they can. If I have a choice to pay $30 for the game that is a year old, plus an additional $20 or $30 on DLC, why would I not drop the cash on the remastered version? Also, I love the idea of playing my favorite games in their best possible version. Which, if the remasters are done properly it should be the games best version.

I don't know what you guys are talking about. This has never happened in the history of video games..

Well...yeah, ok, but come on, we got Lost Levels out of that. Not too bad.

My point was that the PS1 port was shit, and the port to the faaar superior console should have been a better game than the original SNES version.Violent By Design wrote:It also came out on PC and Saturn.ZeroAX wrote:Clearly you haven't played the PS1 version (Violent By Design wrote: Is Megaman X3 a cash in too because it was released on SNES and PSX?)
Same with Super Mario All Stars on the Wii. Such a luxurious collection should have had extras, more Mario games included, a better save feature, but instead we got just an SNES rom on a disk (without Super Mario World too).
It's not that I mind the re-releases like the OP, but I do mind the half assed job they did with it.

Why is it bad? It is just the soundtrack bad or the whole mechanics of the game are broken? I sold my snes copy because i was thinking on getting the X collection on the PS2 (ANOTHER MONEY GRAB!!!!11ONE) and i know the X3 on that is the PS1 version.ZeroAX wrote: My point was that the PS1 port was shit, and the port to the faaar superior console should have been a better game than the original SNES version.
.
It is classic doom controls, you point and shoot and you have to circle strafe a lot.Hobie-wan wrote:I haven't played it, but I imagine that will depend a lot on the controls.Damm64 wrote:Seriously is a brand new game, if you like classic doom you are gonna love doom 64.

Loading times, soundtrack, and the graphics look a bit weird to me for some reason. Maybe that last one is just my imagination though.Damm64 wrote: Why is it bad? Just get the PC fan port Absolution. It's basically a Doom 2 WAD I think, so you can use any source port you want.Hobie-wan wrote:I haven't played it, but I imagine that will depend a lot on the controls.Damm64 wrote:Seriously is a brand new game, if you like classic doom you are gonna love doom 64.
