Re: Kids React to Old Technology
I dunno, I don't think it's perverted to look, especially if you didn't know her age when you were doing it. It's just biology really. I'm not encouraging you to pursue, or to leer, but a basic look is just gonna happen.
Related to the singles vs albums thing... there will never again be a Jethro Tull-esque Concept Album. And that makes me sad.

Wow dsheinem, what a clever joke. The WiiU is such old technology
Where's my chippy? There's my chippy.

Sort of related. I bought an old jukebox from the 70's that plays 45's to fix up. I was trying to explain to my 7 year daughter what it did and her reaction was, "why do we need this big box to play music when your phone can?"

Considering it is comprised of tech from ~2005 but was released in late 2012, I'd agree!pepharytheworm wrote:Wow dsheinem, what a clever joke. The WiiU is such old technology

Reminds me of the time Nintendo made a console from 2001 hardware in 2006.dsheinem wrote:Considering it is comprised of tech from ~2005 but was released in late 2012, I'd agree!pepharytheworm wrote:Wow dsheinem, what a clever joke. The WiiU is such old technology

And it was the best-selling console of its generation by a fair margin? I remember that story!BoringSupreez wrote:Reminds me of the time Nintendo made a console from 2001 hardware in 2006.dsheinem wrote:Considering it is comprised of tech from ~2005 but was released in late 2012, I'd agree!pepharytheworm wrote:Wow dsheinem, what a clever joke. I thought the PS2 outsold it?KalessinDB wrote: the best-selling console of its generation by a fair margin?
OHHHHH you meant compared to the PS3 and 360!
I wouldn't be shocked if, in the end, either the PS3, 360, or both end up outselling the Wii.

Yep, compared to other 7th gen systems, trolly mctrolltrolldsheinem wrote:I thought the PS2 outsold it?KalessinDB wrote: the best-selling console of its generation by a fair margin?

And it did, but PS2 had a 12 year run officially and garnered 155 vs 8 yr run for the Wii picking up 101 soooo units per year, pretty even.
And I suppose PS3 or 360 might, but 20 million to go when they've been pushing their 8th gens pretty hard... possible, but I don't think it'll be trivial for them to accomplish it.

I think they are, though Wiki says that the Wii is "Discontinued" in May 2014, whatever that means. I don't stay on top of this stuff too much, retro is my major love.dsheinem wrote:They're still making Wiis, right?

And yeah. January 2013 was when they stopped making PS2s, ridiculously enough. And I swear I read something where they made a couple new PS2 games even after that.
