Sonic Unleashed on Xbox 360. Thoughts?

I have yet to play this game. Ive been browsing around some reviews. Most appear to be extremely harsh on the Werehog sequences for being very tedious and boring. Im not sure if this is the sole reason for the game to be called 'Terrible'. What mixes me up is when some praise the Daytime sequences stating, "Finally a return to the sonic adventure days"....which I dont believe to be a good thing at all (Excluding maybe...three levels).
Others knock the daytime sequences saying that the mechanics are very poor. Which would then make me say, "Oh damn. A return to the sonic adventure days"
Most people seem to agree that they got the speed right.
What are other peoples thoughts?

I hope it doesn't suck because I'm pretty sure someone got me it for Christmas. The demo really wasn't bad at all...I just don't get why they had to throw that stupid werewolf thing in.

My reason for creating this thread was to try and get more 1st hand experience out of people. That thread just seemed to be, 'i dont like what ive seen so far', 'werehog sucks' comments.

I would be enjoying this game, except for the asinine requirement of having to collect x number of medals from previous stages before I am able to progress onto the next one. This pretty much ruined the game for me. Because uncovering every square inch of old levels over and over again to find them != fun.

To be fair, Sega has given us Valkyria Chronicles, and Madworld is looking awesome as well.

i do to - although it felt a little bit more like you were kindof mildly influencing the game like a cutscene or something, but still it was very, very fast, and beautiful - Santorini is probably one of my favourite places on this earth
