1) Nice to see Ctrl+Alt+Del is still the equivalent to cancer of the gaming web comic scene.

2) Sad to see gaming humor still breaks down to: gaming logic + reality = "HAR HAR HAR"

Also Dave, Doom 64 is a Standalone sequel, not a port or remake of any other game in the series. Nit picking, but just wanted to point it out

Hmm, I always thought it was a hodgepodge of existing Doom things. Maybe I should give it a go someday. In any case, it was marketed as Doom + "shiny new coat"
As I like to say Doom 64 is more Doom 3 than Doom 3 was.

It's damn good too.

the audacity of for-profit companies re-releasing products to make money is just sickening.

Now if only sony would do their own definitive of "arkham origins"...that or I just need to break down and buy a ps3 from a local pawn shop next month
Unless you really want it I would wait until around next Christmas or keep an eye on the pawns should start to see the systems getting closer to $100 slowly but surely over the next year. Prices will really start to plummet around next Christmas when undoubtedly we should see a fresh supply of PS4/XB1/Wii U System Bundles pop up.

Well the local pawn shop has like several ps3's for 159 or 169 and that's 320gb and the 169 part includes the move controllers....which sounds nice but I think I'd settle for 159

My systems: NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, original gba, gba sp(001), ds lite, 3ds, vita, psp, PSone(101 model) ps2, ps3(320gb model), ps4, retron 5, and Dreamcast.

I'm getting this for sure. Double dipping, as they say.

Don't like it? Don't buy it.

If a product is going to make $$$, then a company is going to make it. That's the way it is and the way it always will be.

The statements in the box contradic each other... MAKE YOU MIND GAME! ARE YOU A NEW GAME OR A BETTER VERSION!?

Seriously is a brand new game, if you like classic doom you are gonna love doom 64.

Admittedly it is the same game in terms of core gameplay. But all of the Doom games up to that point(Doom, Doom 2, Final Doom, and Doom 64) were basically modular versions of the same game with new level designs and layouts, as well as new monsters, weapons, and in the case of Doom 64, entirely different textures and enemy skins. Each Doom also has a different(but continuous) storyline(Doom is the first UAC battle for Phobos and Demos, Doom 2 is the lone survivor of Doom returning to Earth and confronting the invasion, Final Doom covers an experimental facility on Io being overrun followed by a second invasion on Earth due to a failure of scientific attempts to force closed the gates of Hell, and Doom 64 is a marine strike on Phobos and Demos in an attempt to reclaim the facility).

I haven't played it, but I imagine that will depend a lot on the controls.

I say keep the ports comin'. They keep prices low and give consumers plenty of options.
