To be honest even though this game isn't for me I expected it. With how late-release it was to the announcement and release of ps4 I didn't see why it wasn't on ps4 to begin with. Now if only sony would do their own definitive of "arkham origins"...that or I just need to break down and buy a ps3 from a local pawn shop next month

Unless you really want it I would wait until around next Christmas or keep an eye on the pawns should start to see the systems getting closer to $100 slowly but surely over the next year. Prices will really start to plummet around next Christmas when undoubtedly we should see a fresh supply of PS4/XB1/Wii U System Bundles pop up.darsparx wrote:To be honest even though this game isn't for me I expected it. ... is hit or miss.
What major game thesedays does not have some omega all-DLC-included edition thesedays? Why shouldn't we all just start waiting to save $30 or more for complete releases that have all the content?
It's become a huge trend thesedays, and as I become both lazier and more patient, yeah. I guess if you've got the money and lack a backlog people can jump on new stuff, but I find myself buying less new releases by the year and things like this only motivate me to keep that up.
Guess that's a bit of a different discussion.
I may never play this though. As someone who hasn't upgraded to a PS4/Xbone (and I completely see no point right now or anytime soon), I've been content with sticking with the PS3 releases of the cross gen stuff. But with these definitive/collective releases, I guess I feel a bit different. Right when I was getting ready to check this out sometime in the next few months or something, this happened and yeah. So while I wait there will probably be more releases that catch my eye and by the time I get a PS4 I might not even care anymore. lol? Back on the patience thing I guess, I'll get the PS4 edition in the bargain bin in 2018 or something.

I highly recommend at least renting this game the SP campaign is pretty darn good and it has one of the best intro levels ever.Xeogred wrote:This.Reprise wrote:This.dsheinem wrote:It's not simply a re-release, as it is basically a GOTY edition since there's $30 or so worth of DLC included for "free" as well as nice extras and all. It was good enough that I played the entire campaign through in two sittings.

Re: The Last of Us: Re-money Grab
I think Sony should re-release all PS3 games. Let's flood the market. I mean who needs just new games when you can play the same game you just played last year again with a shiny new coat of paint and all the DLC. And then when the PS5 comes out I want them all re-re-released. Man 'cause those ps4 games are gonna look ugly compared to the ps5. Geez what was Nintendo thinking when they released the N64. They should've just rereleased every SNES game for the N64 with super awesome updated graphics. See thats why Atari is awesome they did that for all their consoles. Well not so much the Jaguar, but that's not fair 'cause the Jag was 64-bit. The Jaguar was just too big of a leap from 8-bit 7800, the developers just didn't know how to multiply by 8 the shear power of the 7800 versions.
Man I just love waiting around for the best version with all the DLC and then find out here is an even better version with even more DLC and/or features that we added to the awesome version and it goes on and on forever and a day.

Where's my chippy? There's my chippy.

Dave is making a good point, they have been doing it for years, I have Missile Command on the Master System, Super Mario Bros is on the SNES, etc, Daytona USA on the Dreamcast, etc, etc.
If you don't like it, don't buy it, complex theory.
Also Dave, Doom 64 is a Standalone sequel, not a port or remake of any other game in the series. Nit picking, but just wanted to point it out

Hmm, I always thought it was a hodgepodge of existing Doom things. Maybe I should give it a go someday. In any case, it was marketed as Doom + "shiny new coat"
