I can't believe you two goofballs are making a card game sound intriguing. Must...resist.

dood, I'm being totally honest here. I thought the two Card Fighter games were ones I get for collection and not actually care about. I only got this one cuz Temple was trading it and MOTM CIB together, so it was easy to grab em both. I've never been into Pokemon or anything like that. But OMG it's so addictive. There's so much strategy. And part of it is knowing Capcom/SNK characters as they can power each other up. It's crazy fun. I've put 5 hrs into it already, which might be more than any other single NGPC cart I own.

Congrats, s8n.

As you build out your library, keep in mind the early release fighters are found on the very cheap - ($15-20 USD) so be careful not to rush-in and do an ebay-buy now on Samurai Shodown 1/2, World Heroes 1/2, Art of Fighting 1/2 or Fatal Fury Special, they are at auction often and do about $10 and shipping. If you can combine, even better.

Once you get into titles over $300 is where you run into conversion / boot territory. You'll want either provenance (reciept from neo-store, note from original owner with reputation, etc) or you'll want to see the pcb's. If the buyer can't / won't do that, it isn't worth the risk imo. Some boots can be spotted from a poorly done label (straight cut corners, pixellation, etc) but the majority are so well done now, it won't pass a photo test, you'll need to see the pcb's.

I have to say I don't really get the appeal. I've had this game as long as I've had my Neo Geo Pocket, but I just can;t get into it at all. It's not that it's a card game either - I adore Pokemon TCG for GBC.

Neo Geo MVS collecting is like the Sams Club of Neo Geo, you got a pay a little bit to get inside but then its bargain after bargain.
