Upgraded to a DOCSIS 3 modem a couple weeks back, saw a 50%+ increase in speed without changing plans. If you have cable and own your own modem i recommend looking into a newer modem.

Actually pretty fast for Straya. Uploading HD video to Youtube on that upload speed is way fun.

At the moment Australia is in the process of getting fibre installed though, which promises up to 1gb/s. Can't wait for that, although my area isn't scheduled for it until around 2015+ :(
I love in an area where the NBN (Brunswick) has been installed and a few ISP's have sent me pricing guides. The prices they are asking is insane, its like $10+ a month for every 10mb/s you increase the speed. It is pretty much the same price as ADSL2 at the moment on an normal. 250gb a month plan, you just pay out the ass for small steps of speed.

With me moving away while likely using a mobile hotspot, and my parents moving into the mountains, I thought it would be nice to look at the high speed internet I will surely be missing very shortly.

I didn't think that was too bad for WiFi.
Do you have the 40mbps Bright House RR Lightning tier I have? I get spikes of 50-55 when I check it on certain occasions. You can get service up to 90mbps now -- crazy!

I wasn't sure, so I tracked down some paperwork and according to this we max out at 60mbps. So, it's a smidge slow, but still pretty good considering I'm on the other side of the house.

Damn and I thought I had it bad:

Comcast still sucks though, I'd say consistency is their constant issue. Who knows what it'll be like tomorrow...

Moving on up. My ↑ is supposed to 20-ish. It's been hovering around 11-15 today.

Now If I could just match my speeds at the office.

I'm using Wi-fi and did over 20 tests each for my room which is the worst spot in the house for a connection and downstairs in the same room as the router.

Here was the average in my room

And here's downstairs in the same room with the router

Ummm all the speeds everyone has posted shows the download is higher than the upload. Why am i getting a higher upload in my room?
