Envelopes are run through automatic sorting machines. Packages are more handled by people. If someone didn't notice among the thousands of other envelopes that it was thick and should be with packages, I'm sure a machine got jammed up by the fat hard thing in an envelope and chewed the hole so that the cart fell out. The cart could be sitting in pieces under a sorting machine, maybe in a 'lost items' bin at a sorting facility anywhere between you and the buyer, or it might have gone home with an underpaid worker who knew it would never make it back to the rightful person anyway so they just shoved it in their pocket.

The game is gone. If you'd gotten insurance on it. You'd probably still be up the creek for insufficient packaging but without it the post office isn't going to spend man hours looking for your lost item that could even be rattling around in the bottom of a truck if it fell out later.

Think about it this way, if you had bought the game, would you have been happy that it was just shoved in a flimsy envelope?

Here is my rule of thumb when it comes to shipping if it's a single item and costs under $10 shipped it gets a bubble mailer. Multi item orders or anything over $10 shipped gets bubble wrapped and placed in a box for extra protection.

Usually a bubble mailer will get the job done 99% of the time unless someone is really careless with your package, but using boxes for more expensive stuff givse you a little extra assurance that it will get there unharmed. Plus when someone is putting down $15-20+ on an item they expect it to be packaged well I know it personally irks me when I buy $20+ worth of stuff from places like Amazon and it arrives in a bubble mailer or huge box that the items slid around in for the whole trip.

:) - Went to my first SSBM tournament. It was surprisingly fun to watch. I never seen anyone take SSB that seriously before.

:x - Amazon broke up my order in to 4 shipments when they could have easily done one. It's all coming from the same center so why break it up? It costs more for you and is a tad bit more of a hassle for me.

Sure it will be a little more hassle to open it all but at least you don't have to worry about them tossing whatever you bought in a bigger box without proper padding. About every time I get a largish Special Edition box from them it has at least some crush damage :P.

The fact that someone mailed a pokemon game cartridge in a letter envelope is what made me smile/ticked me off today. What a dumbass move.

Excited and anxious: Starting my new job tomorrow. Still doing the museum thing, but this will be my main gig. I know what I'll be doing as far as work goes, but I have no clue what to expect. As, I don't know what kind of pc or laptop they'll provide.I don't know where my office will be. I don't know what to expect for the first day as a whole. I'm just going to not worry about it (as much as I can) and walk in there with a smile and my routing number.

Frown: I've never really broken out before, but both my wife and I had an odd visit from the pimple fairy last week. And not your regular pimples, but like really, really tiny zits. Pin head sized red dots.

The weather has really changed recently, and pollen is everywhere. Maybe it's more of an allergic reaction than anything. Even so, I admit I'm detail oriented when it comes to my appearance. Not vain nor conceited, but self conscious. Always want to look the best that I can with what I've got. I'm more than fine with a huge bruise on my mug, but little red dots on my face harsh my gig.

Smile: Last weekend was something special. Did tons of yard work, pressure washed the house, took Ripley for walks, did a lot of house work, grilled out, sang karaoke with friends, went to the farmer's market, played catch with the wife while enjoying a few cold ones, caught up with old friends, improved on my yoga technique*, did my taxes...I'm amazed at how much work I did, yet how much relaxing I did at the same time. I mean, my wife and I even found time to smoke cigars and observe the moon with one of my telescopes (having more than one telescope is not something I tell people when I meet them). I won't mention some of the other stuff my wife and I did (maybe we scrapbooked, maybe we didn't).

Played a lot of Saturn too. I tell ya, I can't believe how much I got done in just two days. Busy every second.

*Yoga has been a fun challenge. Some poses require you to hold one of your feet with your left hand, which is impossible for me to do. There's one pose where you hold your left foot with your left hand while stretching your right arm out forward. I looked like I was trying to do the "sprinkler" at first.

But my balance has amazingly improved over the course of a month, give or take. While sitting, I can place my heels (touching) right next to my nards, and have my knees touch the floor. Very Van Damme.

Neat! I might have to go!
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Good luck with the new job Luke! Phone interview myself tomorrow... definitely hoping it goes well, luckily I have a friend working there who's been there for awhile so that hopefully gives me an edge.

Yoga is amazing. I've been doing DDP's program for almost a year now I think (yeah the ex wrestler!) at this point I'm definitely liking the improvements I've seen and can feel, haven't really had any aches or knacks in months. Keep telling my gym buddies to try it out when they complain about not being able to bend over and stuff but they shrug it off. lol, well I feel incredible.
