I'll be interested to read the piece tomorrow where they talk about whether or not this is just Alpha Centauri 2 (which wouldn't be a bad thing).

I would be more than happy if this was just Alpha Centauri 2, to be honest.

It is Alpha Centauri 2, only made by a different team and without the name because EA owns it.

PC GAMER has an interview with the developers and it pretty much seems to be Alpha Centauri "Civ V", which is great because SMAC was "Alpha Centauri "Civ 2.5":

Thanks for the link, Norris. It seems this project is quite far along which is good to hear.

My only concern would be one of the designers saying Civ Revolution was his preference. I didn't like that game at all. Still this looks much more, as you say, like Civ5.2 rather than that bastardization.

It's funny because the vast majority of Civ fans actually don't care about it not being on the iPad.

Civ 4 is still the best Civ game on PC. Don't need a new one there. Put it on a new platform. Hell, they made one for the DS, how are they ignoring ios?

The same Civ on the DS made it to iOS: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/civiliz ... 63544?mt=8

Personally 2 is my favorite. Rush workshop!

I actually really like Civ V. They did change up the formular some, but I think for the best as a whole. Gets rid of a lot of the late game tedium that could bog down the game from the earlier releases.
