Hey, just before everyone gets sick of yet anther Saturn modchip problem topic, I just want to first off say that my chip is installed and working properly.
Now my problem is that is only works when the lid of the case is off. Once I put it back on, my Saturn can no longer read backup games. The case is not hitting the modchip or any of its cables as they are all taped down onto the console. Is there anything else the case lid does, besides tell the console the the door is closed?
Any help would be appreciated, because I don't want to forever play my Saturn backups with my Saturn half open.
Cheers.

Re: Saturn modchip installation (case lid problems)
is the saturn resting atop another system (like a fat ps2) or some uneven surface
i don't know why, but my saturn thinks all legit and illegit games are just audio cd's if it sits atop a fat ps2 or is not perfectly level

Re: Saturn modchip installation (case lid problems)
Nah, my saturn is on the floor away from any interference. As I said, the chip works, just only when the lid is off. So obviously is the lid causing some effect that's stopping it from working.
Re: Saturn modchip installation (case lid problems)
i know you said you are sure it's not hitting. On my model one I thought that also. It was actually causing the cable to bend though coming off the chip. It caused the problem you mentioned. The cable connector eventually snapped and thats how I found out.
Needless to say I now have a model 2 and a broken model 1 :/ Fail heh..
