i think ps3 too
its the only one where you can improve a lot on
as the wii is selling like crazy and 360 is solid...
the new home and extra games sure will make more people jump to ps3, also more people would want to watch blu-ray
maybe recession means lower prices
Who will have the better 2009?

I don't have any of those consoles, but I might get a PS2 next year.

Re: Who will have the better 2009?
of the four I own a PS2 & Wii....
I am waiting the 360 out until it really appears M$ has solved the RROD, I may invest in a PS3 just so I can play the entire MGS series from start to finish...lol
This is the time to buy PS2 games, whatever few that are still coming out will be the typicall end of lifespan gems that people who moved on to new consoles will over look and want to come back to.
I had made a post once asking if people thought the PS1 may become like the NES as a super nostogia retro system of choice, but of all the sony systems, the PS2 may be the best bet as almost everyone who will ever play a video game has one. I think they need to lower the price for new PS2's to like $99 as almost nobody will want to spend $150 on a PS2 now that they van get a 360 or wi for $100 more.
I do not think the PS2's library divirsity will ever be matched.
i would love the Wii to get it into gear and have a bunch off killer third party games...more games like De Blob, Zack & Wiki & No More Heroes please!
either way 2009 should be another great year for gamers.

True, and Alan Wake's potential release does tempt me, but at the same time there's a lot of PS2 games I haven't gotten yet(and some in my collection I never finished), so I'll keep buying those, especially as they keep dropping below the ten dollar mark. I'm waiting to see if I can find Haunting Ground for under ten bucks.blue_veilvet wrote:Same here, my focus at the moment lies on the dozen PS2 games that I want to get to know better. I'm also waiting for Persona 4.Ack wrote:Hands down, my PS2, because it will see a lot more play by me than any of these.
On the other hand, after I played Fahrenheit with great enthusiasm, its spiritual sequel Heavy Rain might finally lure me into the PS3 camp and for the first time into the curious world of the current generation.

Re: Who will have the better 2009?
360's are seeing massive price drops here in Australia (and that's despite the shitty dollar). I see in catalogues this week a XBox 360 with 20GB hard disk is cheaper than a Wii locally. I know Nintendo historically don't drop prices pre-Christmas (they drop early in the new year when sales lag), but the Wii is no longer the budget 7th-gen console.
I think Microsoft are going to continue aggressively pushing the console at a loss to try and get the budget gamers in. Sony cover the ultra-budget and ultra-high end with the PS2 and PS3 respectively. But it looks like Microsoft are aiming their sights squarely at Nintendo for 2009.
