REPO Man wrote: I was basically saying that MTV is intended for 14-year-olds while VH1 is more a mix of adult contemporary and shitty E!-Channel-esque celebudreck that only courts people in their 30s.
have you watched VH1 lately? it's basically the same thing as MTV. the old adage of "MTV for the kids, VH1 for the adults" doesn't really ring true anymore and hasn't for over a decade.

We were talking about Janelle Monae a few weeks and/or months ago. I re-listened (because that's a word now) to the electric lady last night. This is one album that gets better with successive listening. Every time I listen, I notice something that I previously missed.

I've heard songs from the Blue Album countless times on the radio, as well as their lower-quality output from after the band reformed. For some reason I've overlooked Pinkerton until just last week, and man oh man is it better than anything else Weezer has put together! It feels like they put so much more emotion into this one, instead of trying to make more radio music.

Pinkerton was incredible, for sure. I like a lot of later Weezer stuff too. They get a lot of slack, say post Green Album/Maladroit. But I don't know, every album there's always the majority of it that I like.
