How do you think it compares to other DQs?
I've only finished DQI (GBC), DQIV (DS), and DQV (DS). And of those, I thought IV was the best. I think DQV is very overrated, but I'll stop short of saying more as it's a sacred cow and all that.

I have not played all of the DQ games, but I would rank the ones I have played:

Welcome to the fold brother. I have enjoyed watching your commentary on the game over time, complaining about controls and I got the overall feel that you just weren't, "feeling it." You are starting to get sucked into the implications set by the game, which is one of the big reasons the game is so well loved. It doesn't tell you anything and yet you form these conclusions on your own. You start to get a sense of the overall atmosphere of the situation and its gravity starts to settle in.
I am glad you are starting to enjoy it though!
Haha, yep! The controls/camera are still giving me fits but I can overlook that if I am immersed in the overall story of a game.
Man...I want to finish the game but I don't want to kill another Colossus! Although I want to see the story to it's conclusion so I'll have to do what I don't want to do (LOL how the hell does that make sense?!)

have you played ico yet? Although it came out first, the game is actually a sequel in terms of timeline so I highly recommend it.
this of course makes the lack of news for "The LAst Guardian" all the more frustrating.

Wait ... what? How are those games related at all except by developer? Feel free to spoiler your response or PM me.

At the end of Shadow of the Colossus, you get sucked into the vortex and turned into a baby with horns. In Ico, you play a child with horns. Ueda stated that the connection is not coincidental and that shadow of the colossus is a prequel to ico
