Well buyer for my pokemon leaf green didn't alert me that they wanted item number(it was a store) until after I'd already put it in the mail and it shipped. *sigh* I think next time I'll just sell something like it on the forums like I should've...

I used to have two cars, traded them in. Now we're down to one. Good economic sense, although the new car's a Porsche, for Jan.dsheinem wrote:?noiseredux wrote:My favorite Springsteen song is "Fast Car."

Loss is hard. Nobody likes losing their loved ones and if it's someone incredibly close, father or son, I respect that things will be rough.
What I can't respect though is you and your entire family getting drunk and loud till 1am when I have to get up at 6am, then proceeding to wake me up being loud again at 7am after I have already overslept due to this going on for a week and a half now.
I can't complain too much since I respect the situation but, I have enough sleep problems as it is without rowdy drunk people in the house who seem to have no responsibilities to tackle.
Older. Not wiser.

Well this will make me sound like an idiot...
I had no clue you could use a debit card as a credit card and the credit charge would deduct from checking without a fee.
Here is why I am confused...If someone stole my card, they could still use it. Not at an ATM, but they could charge as much as they would want at stores. And I'm not freaking out about the Target hackers, nor that the fact that most pos systems work on XP which will no longer have security updates, but what is the point of having a pin if you don't have to use it?
Seems like terrible security for my mohney (not a typo, it's how Neon Deion says money).
And why would anyone risk using the card as debit knowing their pin could be stolen? I guess it's as easy as stealing the credit card number.

This is a serious fear I have. I have noticed at gas stations, to use a card as credit, you have to input the zip code for the account. Its not a great form of protection, but a step towards deterrence, at gas stations at least.Luke wrote:Well this will make me sound like an idiot...

And I am a huge fan of Neon Deion

This is why I make sure my bank doesn't issue any of the cards on my bank accounts as Mastercard, Visa, etc. The other issue is that if someone does fraudulently charge money on a debit card, that money is tied up until the bank decides if or when they're going to issue a refund. I'd rather play with house money, thanks.Luke wrote:Well this will make me sound like an idiot...

Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
Smile: My Grandmother's birthday is today. She's turning 93 or 94. Don't worry, I don't she knows for sure either.
Since she's in Chicago, I called K house of flowers (they know me on a first name basis) and they're delivering a beautiful bouquet of flowers to her this morning. They're amazing, and you get a lot for little.
Here's the kicker...There's a Gyro joint very close to my Grandmother's house. The owner always recognizes me as we've had some interesting conversations. For example, when he met my girlfriend (now wife) he told me "Not saying you're ugly, but look at her! You need to marry this woman!". I told him "Free wedding gyros?", and he agreed.
The next time I visited, I was by myself on business and showed him my wedding ring. He exclaimed "No beautiful blonde, no free gyros". The next visit I brought my wife, got some free gyros, and his blessing for our marriage.
I'm building a bridge, stay with me.
So I called the Gyro joint and explained, "It's my Grandmother's 93rd birthday, and I know you don't deliver, but could you please make an exception? I promise you myself and my family will continue to be loyal customers every time we visit".
The owner responded, "My friend, you are a good Grandson. I'll tell you what I'll do. I'll deliver it myself, for free. On the house my friend, but come by soon and buy some of our world famous gyros please".
Great guys. Made my day.
