The third-person cover system was fine for its day, but I prefer the leaning in Farcry 3 and Killzone 3

Re: What single player FPS campaign are you playing?
I just finished Realms of the Haunting, a hybrid of point-and-click and FPS action from around 1996/1997. It ended up being a lot better than I was expecting, and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it.
Re: What single player FPS campaign are you playing?
I've been playing through the various DLC campaigns of some of the FPS's I have that I never got around to playing. So far I've knocked off the campaigns for Bioshock Infinite and Dishonored. I think next I'll do Minerva's Den from Bioshock 2 and then finish up the last Borderlands and Borderlands 2 DLC I have.

Oh man, I've heard Minerva's Den is great, how was it?
Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea 1 and 2 next?

Re: What single player FPS campaign are you playing?
I actually did Burial at Sea first; that's what got me on this DLC jag. I've only gotten a little into Minerva's Den; the game keeps crashing on me and Bioshock 2 doesn't seem to have an autosave system; they went with vita-chambers instead. Since I've gotten used to at least loading screen autosaving (and let's be honest, there's no reason not to include something like that in addition to whatever other save system you use) I've ended up not saving and having to restart it a couple times. I shelved it in frustration after the latest instance where I'd actually gotten a bit into it.Stark wrote:Oh man, I've heard Minerva's Den is great, how was it?

Ah I read that as finished. Well good luck with the autosave thing.

For about the 4th time I have started Resistance: Fall of Man, I am not sure if the game was always bad, or it just aged horribly (it is a PS3 launch title), but I never could get into it.
I am dead set on playing 2 and 3 and I like playing games in order so I am stepping up and finishing it regardless.
The controls annoy me in almost every way and man the game is mega hard.

Re: What single player FPS campaign are you playing?
I reached the tank section before giving up. R3 is definitely much better, but as I wrote before I was disappointed I never got to take on large foes in the game.emwearz wrote:For about the 4th time I have started Resistance: Fall of Man, I am not sure if the game was always bad, or it just aged horribly (it is a PS3 launch title), but I never could get into it.

R1<R2<R3
All are good, though. None seemed especially hard...I liked that they weren't straight up cover/health regen games...

Re: What single player FPS campaign are you playing?
I don't know if they change the system in R2 and R3, but Fall of Man is a cover/health regen game, if that term means you are constantly getting hit, looking for cover while waiting for your health to regen.dsheinem wrote:R1<R2<R3

I just got to London, for some reason I am not having much trouble with it this time around, not loving it, but it is playable.
