I had to go the piracy route to get the Tony Martin albums, since the actual CDs are so hard to find and pricey. It amazes me that Sabbath just ignores 10 years of their history, like it never happened.aaron wrote:you should give the other Sabbath vocalists a shot. the Dio stuff is fantastic and the Tony Martin-era stuff isn't too shabby either.jvalentine98 wrote:My fav metal band is still the original Black Sabbath, with Ozzy. I keep a burned disc of my favorites in the CD player in my truck. Their music will last for all times. The original song, Black Sabbath, is a great one, too. Very atmospheric with the rain and the way the music builds up. Then Ozzy's voice! Other favs include Ozzy's solo work, Dio, Metallica and some Danzig now and then.
i think Ozzy really got his stride at Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Sabotage. those are my favorite Sabbath records and Ozzy's voice on Sabotage especially is insane. Symptom of the Universe is unreal.

They have escaped into the mansion where they thought it was safe, yet.

yeah, they're really difficult to come across for whatever reason. it's probably a licensing thing where the label holds the rights to the records but not the name? black sabbath's legal past is tricky.jvalentine98 wrote:I had to go the piracy route to get the Tony Martin albums, since the actual CDs are so hard to find and pricey. Recently I have been listen to a lot of Helloween. The Opening song Nabataea on the Straight out of Hell album is really great. Really is a shame that a lot of really good European metal never gets any attention here in the states.

i liked that record when it came out but i grew tired of it pretty quick. it's not bad, but it's no Keeper of the Seven Keys.DK1105 wrote:Recently I have been listen to a lot of Helloween. When Sabbath released "13" the good thing was that it suddenly brought some of their older albums out of hibernation. Suddenly, my Wal-Mart was selling "Seventh Star" for $5. I picked that one up as I'd never heard it.yeah, they're really difficult to come across for whatever reason. it's probably a licensing thing where the label holds the rights to the records but not the name? black sabbath's legal past is tricky.
I know what you mean about the legal thing. Heck, Ozzy has some of his solo albums officially deleted from his discography. Speak of the Devil and at least one or two more have been officially deleted, as if they didn't exist. Lol

Well the Keepers albums are seen as the corner stone for power metal for a reason. I know I am an outlier on this one but I like Andi Deris more than Kai Hansen or Michael Kiske vocally. Kiske has amazing highs but I love the musicianship that Deris belts out.aaron wrote:i liked that record when it came out but i grew tired of it pretty quick. it's not bad, but it's no Keeper of the Seven Keys.DK1105 wrote:Recently I have been listen to a lot of Helloween. You can't tell me you don't get chills down your spine during the children children part of Nabataea.

I picked up Exmortus' latest, Slave to the Sword, about two months ago but only really began listening to it recently, and I gotta hand it to these guys, they definitely know what they're doing with those intstruments. It starts awesome and stays consistent. I wish there was a little more variance with the lyrics and vocals, but honestly with music this good it's a background complaint.

Awful.
Then again, I think Seasons in the Abyss was probably their last decent album.

divine intervention has some crucial cuts, but in a campy 90's beavis and butthead kinda way.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Awful.
