Listening to "Oh Me" right now.

I can't handle Unplugged tonight. I've had 4 or 5 of the Outcestiticde CDs and a disc or two of "With the Lights Out" on shuffle. Are you familiar with the former at all?

I'm familiar with the whole Outcestide series and and the With The Lights box, yeah of course. Nirvana was me intro to the bootleg scene in high school as well. I got the box not long after it was released. But I had all the Outcesticides, and many many stray boots.

PS, the solo on "Plateau" - and I don't just mean the Nirvana version - is one of the most transcendent pieces of music ever written. Wow.

Replace Nirvana with Soundgarden and then you'd have me. Same deal, tons of stuff that never made it to albums, so much so that box set rumors pop up all the time.

As far as obsessions go, Nirvana was always way up there for me. Sonic Youth has remained at the top. But outside of hip hop, few have rivaled SY. Nirvana, Beck, Pavement, the Pixies are a small handful that have come close and filled many, many hours of my life.

listening to "Opinion" from the box now. Man.

Also the Nirvana recording of "Old Age" brutalizes me.

I will never understand the people who argue Kurt couldn't write for shit and/or that Nirvana couldn't play for shit. While I think the lyricism trumps the musicianship, both of those songs show how closely related they always were for Kurt. One of the best singer-songwriters of all time - I'd have loved to see how he tackled the 21st Century, his thirties, etc. in song. So sad.

I still consider that show to be one of my favorite albums of all time.
Whelp I went ahead and put it on anyway. I'd place this in my Top 5 albums by anyone ever - which I'd like to think means a good deal given the breadth and depth of my musical tastes/knowledge/library. If ever a more perfect live show was put to tape, I've not heard it.
