I'd like to play this but I'm holding out for price drops. Most jrpg's are such throwaway experiences, I cannot justify paying full price any more.
Re: Ys: Memories of Celceta
Started this up last night, only about 3 hours in or so. Impressions are that this game is pretty much just like Ys Seven in every way. It looks slightly better though. Music hasn't struck me with anything super amazing yet unfortunately.
One thing I do like is how the over world is set up as this unexplored territory and it's kind if satisfying to fill in the map, which seems to be the gist of the story so far.
We'll see how it goes from here but I still think the solo adventures of Adol are way more interesting. I'd kill for another game like Oath in Felghana but with polygon graphics on either PS3/Vita/PS4 or whatever.

We won't see any North American PS3 releases from Falcom.CavZee wrote: We'll see how it goes from here but I still think the solo adventures of Adol are way more interesting. I'd kill for another game like Oath in Felghana but with polygon graphics on either PS3/Vita/PS4 or whatever.
In all likelihood, any upcoming Falcom games will be developed for the PC and Vita. Anything released on PS4 will be a port and will likely stay in Japan.
Re: Ys: Memories of Celceta
If there was an Ys game on PS4 at some point you know XSEED wouldl localize it. The Kiseki games on the other hand....BoneSnapDeez wrote:We won't see any North American PS3 releases from Falcom.CavZee wrote: We'll see how it goes from here but I still think the solo adventures of Adol are way more interesting. And Falcom seems to focusing heavily on Sony platforms lately so I'm really not sure if they'll ever develop another PC-focused game again. Vita seems like the likely destination for most of their games.

Re: Ys: Memories of Celceta
Well, XSEED didn't localize any of the Falcom PS3 games - but none were Ys games.
Falcom doesn't really develop games for home consoles anymore. I believe everything released on the PS3 and PS2 - and even the Saturn and PlayStation - was a remake or port of some sort. I believe the last original home console game they had was Ys V way back on the Super Famicom.
So yeah, I expect and hope to see many more games on the Vita!

Sen no Kiseki came out simultaneously for PS3/Vita and a sequel to that game has already been announced for the same platforms. It's not too far of a leap to consider that the trend will continue.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Well, XSEED didn't localize any of the Falcom PS3 games - but none were Ys games.

We'll almost certainly never get to play these games officially of course since XSEED is so far behind.
I just want Trails in the Sky and SC on Steam ASAP so I can play them.

Re: Ys: Memories of Celceta
Yeah I'm gonna start importing the Legend of Heroes games we didn't get. Too late for most of them to be localized. I wish TitS had sold better, then we'd probably have gotten localized physical versions of the direct sequels.
Anyway, I still need to play Celceta myself!

Still playing this game and I'm glad to say that it's actually become alot more fun and interesting. I'd say it's definitely better than Ys Seven now.

I've played a couple hours. I like it so far.
Ys + OLED screen is a match made in heaven.
