check the YT vid for "Taking You Off Here." I'm pretty sure you'll be sold on the album from that one track.

Tough! Have to say the sample and the drums did it for me before anything! I think I've become more inured to the style again after listening to Roc Marciano. Thanks Noise

General question for you guys - I tried finding the Wu album comparison discussions but couldn't for some reason or other (probly laziness) - anyway can someone who has an opinion "knowledge" me on Killah Priest? Worth delving into and if so which albums to start? Heavy Mental and The Psychic World Of Walter Reed are sounding pretty good so far, but very early days for me

Priest isn't a member of the Wu-Tang Clan, but raps with them from time to time. His stuff is quite silly.

If you like songs about suicide, fake court room appearances, and drinking bloodl, look no further that GRAVEDIGGAZ.

Right, he's extended fam, but not in Wu.

How is he silly? His solo albums get good reviews but i havent heard them.

Fyi, the whole track "BIBLE" on Liquid Swords is just him.

How is he silly? Ya mean like beyond the fact he goes by the name "Priest Killah"? Okay, let me not have to think about that.

He "raps" with guys called Dreddy Kruger and Hell Razah. Even the douche bags who love the IPC have more creative names.

Let's talk lyrics, or lack there of.

"Put one foot front in front of the other, Brother"

Insightful and original. And silly.

"Your arms too short to box with God"

Pretty sure if God exists he isn't into boxing. Silly.

"King Tut"

Any reference to King Tut in Rap music is silly as no one who raps knows a single damned thing about King Tut.

Facts, not opinions.

You listen to reviews of his tracks, but haven't actually listened to his records. Silly.

And he goes by the name "Killah Priest". Silly.

lulz Froggy Fresh is hilarious.

Anyway, like I said, I had not heard any of Killah Priest's albums. But I do have a friend who's really into mysticism and adores him. And I know he gets good reviews. This is of his first album from AllMusic:
As one of the late-arriving members of the Wu-Tang Clan, perhaps it isn't surprising that Killah Priest doesn't follow the RZA blueprint as strictly as his peers. His debut record, Heavy Mental, uses the signature Wu sound as a foundation, stretching out RZA's impressionistic soundscapes with weird samples and drum loops. Nevertheless, Killah Priest isn't strictly about sound -- he's about the entire picture, and his lyrics are decidedly stranger and more ambitious than the average late-'90s rapper. Heavy Mental is filled with weird religious imagery, unpredictable symbolism, and strange allegories, all of which are married to production that is the aural equivalent of his verbal surrealism. As a result, Heavy Mental is a welcome surprise -- the rare, late-'90s record that not only has ambitions, but also fulfills them.
I'd just not heard anyone call him silly before. But I wasn't challenging you. Curious what you had heard that I hadn't is all.

The only song I know by him is "BIBLE" which is really, really good.

The comedic timing of his editing is nothing short of genius.

He's somehow self-aware without being self-aware.
