One problem. It's not PAL compatible :(

As far as the SNES goes, it was notoriously difficult to program for.

Something with a generic M68K would be easier (which is what's in the MegaDrive). But with that said, there's not much of a MegaDrive homebrew scene out there either.

I guess people are more interested in just writing things easily in C/C++/C#/.Net/DirectX with a retro feel to it.
