I've watched a ton recently and was wondering what you guys have seen/would recommend (I've got Amazon Prime and Netflix, so movies on those services are preferred).
Recently, I've watched "Inequality for All" on Netflix, which I thought was fantastic.

Alone in the Wilderness. Awesome documentary about an old guy who got tired of the hustle and bustle of 1950's cities and decided to move to Alaska. He built his own house and everything. I loved it.

Jiro Dreams of Sushi was awesome. I also like a lot of the Nat Geo documentaries found on Netflix. Also I've watched almost all of the 30 for 30 sport docs. Video game related I liked 100 Yen, a documentary about the japanese arcade culture.

You can feel his passion by just looking at him. Amazing how film can do that.
To this day I am astonished at UP!. You know they are fictional cartoons, yet within minutes you feel a connection to the characters. A strong connection at that. Yet, I can't remember the last decent rom-com I've seen.

Re: Favorite Documentaries?
I couldn't agree more. This was a movie that I had ZERO interest in seeing, but on a whim I loaded it up via netflix with the wife and lo and behold it was enthralling!Luke wrote:Seek ye out the Movie Thread.
Jiro Dreams of Sushi
Documentaries that I would suggest include the following.
Murderball - A documentary on the life of Quadriplegic rugby players giving an inside look on one of the most insane sports I may have ever seen. It is a blast to watch!
Lost in La Mancha - This documentary followed the behind the scenes fiasco that was the filming of Terry Gilliam's rendition of Don Quixote. You could never believe the horrible string of bad luck that eventually leads to the insurance company not covering any of the accidents because it was deemed, "An Act of God." Definitely worth seeing.
Man on Wire - The story of the man who tight rope walked between the World Trade Center towers. Intense and engaging. 'Nuff said.
This Film is Not Yet Rated - This documentary is about the film ratings board and tries to out the corruption involved with the current rating system.
I have a billion more, but that is a good place to start!
