The Ongoing 2014 Game of the Year Thread

Having played through a whopping three games released in 2014 so far, I'd give the nod to Titanfall easily.

South Park: Stick of Truth - As someone who sort of lost interest in South Park in recent seasons, this game made me kind of love it again. In fact, the game's release got me to watch the Black Friday trilogy since this game builds off of it, and it was pretty funny.

I beat this last night, and it might be the only 2014 game I play this year. (I have so much catching up to do!) While it was not a great RPG by any means, it was a very fun, very funny, and very memorable experience, and some of the set pieces were simply amazing. Accordingly, it is also my 2014 GOTY at this point.

Honestly, the new Strider is the best game I've played in 2014 so far.

But the year is still young and I haven't played many new releases as of yet.

[Violent By Design]

I think Shovel Knight, Blaz Blue, SF4 Ultra and South Park are the only games I'm planning on getting this year. I would get Persona 5, but it is Japanese only. I'd assume Stick of Truth would be my GOTY since I think South Park is pretty great. Maybe I'll get MGS5 if I can catch up to the rest of the series, but that's pretty unlikely.

I'm thinking of getting TitanFall for 360, but I'd have to buy Xbox Live >.>
