Halo is actually pretty good!

The first game is okay. It pales in comparison to the likes of Doom, Quake, GoldenEye, Perfect Dark and other "classic" FPS titles..... but it's okay. Boring ass lead character though.

The rest of the games - either I haven't tried them or found them mediocre.

Halo Wars is the best game in the series, and obviously not a FPS...

I enjoyed PerfectDark and Goldeneye back in the day, but dont care for them much anymore. I see a lot of the newer FPS games as nice evolutions that improved the genre. Perfect Dark Zero tried to be one of those games with updated graphics and failed.

We all know Halo was a big deal because it paved the way for online FPS multiplayer via console. And I give the game cred on that front. But if you ever played it single player, Halo was pretty damned boring.

WTF dude have you even actually played Halo? I know this is meant to be a "joke" thread but Halo is basically the Super Mario Brothers of the 21st Century, whether you are willing to admit it or not. Reinforcing these attacks on the franchise - even in the context of comedy - is just not cool.

You kidding, right? I'm not gonna deny it's one of the most important games ever made, but it's just so awful compared to every single other shooter and not just because it's on the casual box, everything in the game is inferior to another game, look:

- Vehicle sections were done better in Half-Life 2
- Low damage nail gun is ripped out from Quake
- Blocky virtual babe is not as hot as in System Shock
- Fog Effects, while cool, pale in comparison to Turok

See? Everything about the game sucks. I can understand you academy types only care about trippy indie titles instead of real games like Unreal (Yeah, Unreal, because it existed before it was a multiplayer game) but this is no excuse. This kind of ignorance is everything that's wrong with gaming, I thought you were better than IGNorance and Loltaku but I guess you weren't.

This is more a troll than a joke, Halo was amazing for its time, but FPS has become watered down since the Halo 1 days.

I lost touch with Halo after Halo 2.

Half Life 2 came out after Halo, you cant compare games that came out YEARS apart like that, hell Half Life 2 came out after Halo 2.

There was (unofficial) software you could use to get it online, though yeah, didn't have LIVE integration until Halo 2. It was still a very flexible multiplayer game.

Using this logic, couldn't you just replace Half-Life 2 (which is the same gen as Halo) with Half-Life 1? Then say that, well sure Halo did vehicles better, it came out YEARS after Half-Life 1.
