I began importing PS3 and Xbox 360 games from Japan already.... Maybe the Wii is next for me. That Famicom/Super Famicom Dragon Quest Collection looks amazing, for one.

Does anyone think that the wii later on in the years will have games as costly as the snes games? Like all the classics for the snes are jumping and the rpg's forget about it. Hell turtles 4 and sunset riders is up in the 50.00 range now. Will people catch on and know the wii is one hell of a system and the demand is going to get up there?
Also should the author of this thread just change it to how's the wii going like the snes/gen/dreamcast/////. This will give just more of a chance to talk about wii in general and also about collecting

I was actually considering just making a "How is your Wii gaming going?" thread.

Second priority: track down all the extremely niche and nerdy Japanese games you're after. I'll be the most recent in a long line of people to suggest Opoona to anyone that's ever enjoyed a console RPG of the PS1/PS2 era.
Excellent advice, the first-party and niche titles are always the ones that either retain or increase in value over time. That being said, there always seem to be a few dark horses in every console library, so predictions are shaky at best. I feel we've compiled a fantastic list of Wii games in this thread, but there will most definitely be some games that will surprise a few years down the road that we haven't mentioned/don't know about.
First party is key here. Even with a large print run on some titles the prices will hold and there always seems to be buyers for the title. In other words, bringing the world of investments in, the title has many people as potential buyers. It is a liquid market for these titles. Easy to price a bit higher than the market. Easy to sell.

When it comes to niche titles on the other hand, there will be less people seeking the title. Even though it may be priced higher and the print run is a fraction of the Zeldas and Marios, you may have difficulty getting a seller and may have to part with it for a lower price.

But anyway that's my two cents on the matter. What do I know. That could be a lot of nonsense noise.

I was considering making a 'How is your Pokémon Mini gaming going?' thread. I think it should be mega popular - my research suggests that 'How is your [console] gaming going?' threads are in vogue right now!

Agreed, we have about ten of them.

I'd take 10 "I'm playing this on this" threads over "games, money, games, money, look at ma boxes, I'll probably never play this" threads.
