Hello everyone,
Fair warning, I'm new here.
I'm looking for a Galaga type game that I was introduced to in the year 2000. It was on a really old computer and from what I can remember it was styled in the way of the original Galaga. As well, I remember your ship could only move side to side.
The differences between Galaga and the one I played were:
1: Although the aliens looked similar they were different in many ways, it was 8 Bit after-all.
2: They didn't stay in a grid pattern on the screen, they flew by much like in the challenge stages of Galaga.
3: I remember levels or stages after each fly by.
4: Each level or stage increased in difficulty.
Let me know if anything comes to mind

At first it seemed like it, but I don't remember the docking stages, maybe it really was there and my memory is just failing me!
If anyone has anymore ideas I'd love to look them up.

Do you know what computer it was? VIC-20? Commodore 64? Tandy Color? TI-99/4A? Atari 8-bit? This would narrow it down tremendously.
Anyway, some ideas...
Satan's Hollow:
Demon Attack:
Phoenix:
Juno First:
Another (time-consuming) suggestion - go to GameFAQs and look at the games listed for various retro computers. Research (look at screenshots, vids, whatever) everything listed in the "shooting" section until you find it.

I think Moon Cresta is the closest comparison without it being really it.
The more I think about it, the more I'm believing that its a copy of a game that a small company made. The sad thing is.. it was brilliant!

If it's a DOS game, I can almost guarantee it'll be in eXoScoriae's *AMAZING* eXoDOS collection. I *believe* shooters were put in the Action pack, but I'm not positive on that.
All of the packs can be found on Pleasuredome if you have an account there, or can be downloaded from Archive.org

Seriously... eXo's dedication to making dos games playable in this day and age on modern computers is second to none.

Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
