Smile: Home before 11pm.

Put the pup in our bed for at least ten minutes of snuggle time.

More smiles: NCAA b-ball is in full swing.

Smile: Yep, it's termites. But the damage appears limited and the estimate we got is about $200 less than what I was bracing for. Guy comes back to treat on Thursday.

Frown: Bought a new beer today - not really digging it. This is why I never stray.

Good to hear you got them before it became an issue.

Looks like. We'll find out for sure when the guy opens the wall on Thursday. He didn't seem too concerned though and mentioned that the termites we have are the kind that primarily eat soft woods like door frames and baseboards. We'll obviously eat a little more when we get a contractor to fix the walls and buy molding to replace the baseboards but the timing couldn't be better: I got hired at a pay rate higher than my last job and my fiancee just got a huge raise.

The best part about getting older is living the type of responsible life where you can incur a random $500 in house repairs and it's just a minor annoyance.

:D Went to my first flea market today and was very happy with what I found. Was able to score copies of Bushido Blade (missing manual) and Soul Blade (no manual and generic cd case) for PS1 and a CIB of Aladdin for Genesis all for a total of $5. I saw a bunch of awesome game booths that had stuff moderately priced (although they have old PS1 and PS2 sports games at $8 a piece..which is ridiculous, but they had CIB copies of Night Trap on Sega Cd for $30. I wanted to get it, but thought against it since the box was janky and the game sells for about $25 on ebay, so I passed.

Saw a few Virtual Boy games, and a lot of Sega CD and Sega Saturn games. Nothing too rare, but nothing special that I needed to add to the collection.

I had so much fun and reveled in the sheer insanity that is large scale flea markets. My wife was not as impressed....she wouldn't let me get flea market tacos.....I don't know why not?

Frown:
I had a photoshoot yesterday in a building with sketchy wiring. Before I plug anything in, I ask about the electrical outlets. "no problem," the building superintendent tells me, "that outlet looks sketchy, but it functions just fine." I plug the electrical cord for my drop light into the outlet and...BAM! Flash of light, and I have permanently burnt out a thirty-five dollar drop light.

Smile:
I survived.

Lesson learned: don't trust the superintendent with the facial tattoos.

Frown: Some how it is my fault that our dog peed her bed at 5am.

:D It's snowing

:( Wait, it's... snowing!?

It was raining yesterday, and it was suppose to rain today. I woke up and was surprised to find out it's snowing. And it's sticking.

Snow is sweet and charming in Dec/Jan. This time of year it just enrages me.

Here's my front yard:

At least the driveway isn't too bad.

It's been consistently too cold to take my daughter outside, which is the most annoying part. We are going insane being cooped up all the time.

Wow, nice house!

In like an hour the snow just got real. When I woke up it was like "Oh, heh heh, the rain turned to snow." Now it's accumulating pretty good. A few inches at least so far, and it's still going. I definitely wouldn't go out driving right now.
