I only waste time learning things I want to waste time on.
And in my book it's always been American Football, just as it has always been "colour". Don't know why... just taught that way.

You would think they would put more thought into programming determining when to accept or decline a penalty...
I have seen some weird occurrences in football games as well.
In Madden '93, if you are about to receive a kickoff, you can dive repeatedly at the kicker (you can't run, only dive), if you time it correctly, you can hit the kicker, which prevents him from kicking off, and the rest of his time runs offsides.
Another thing that wasn't odd, but just humorous, was when a player was injured during a game with snow on the field. In Madden '93 an ambulance would come onto the field for injured players. Because the ground was slick, the ambulance accidentally drove past the injured player. The crowd groaned in surprise, thinking the player would be left there. The ambulance then backs up, and loads the injured player.
There were a couple of other football games (don't recall which at the moment) where you could glitch the game during the kickoff. In one game, while you were kicking off, you could dive down the field (again, not run, you had to dive multiple times), and if you hit the return man, it would glitch the game so that a penalty would be called, and you would receive the ball again.
There was one more, but I cannot think of it. I tend to find odd glitches in games...

I might have you beat, Claudio, on the strangest thing to ever happen to someone in an American football football video game:
I was playing All-Pro Football 2k8 on my PS3 and was currently involved in an overtime game with the computer. Of course, overtime games in pro football are decided by "sudden-death" rules. You can imagine that I was happy when I won the coin toss and had the ball to start the overtime. Anyway.
So I'm on the 50 yard line and throw a deep pass for Jerry Rice. The defensive back intercepted my pass his own 1 or 2-yard line. Right after he intercepted it, I tackled him with Rice and he ended up falling into his own endzone. At this point, the announcers said, "and the game's over!"
I was very confused. Apparently the game recorded a Safety in my favor when I tackled the defensive back after my own interception; I thought it was a touchback for sure. Strange stuff indeed.

Yeah, that should have been a touchback. Although if the defensive player who intercepted caught it outside the endzone, landed, then moved under his own volition into the end zone, then was tackled, that is a safety. That might have been what the game thought happened.

I always hated the Aaron Brooks glitch in Madden '05 (I think). On occasion, the quarterback would randomly throw the ball 20-40 yards backwards. Usually it happened in the 4th quarter on a would-be game-winning drive. (I just used 2 hyphens consecutively. Yay!!!)
It was worsened by the fact that this glitch was named after the quarterback of the New Orleans Saints (our local team).
Even worse than that(or worser, worsest?) is the fact that it really happened in a game once.
